SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAMME
• In UTM, it is introduced and conducted by panel of Educational
Development in the Department of Educational Foundation and Social
Science, Faculty of Education starting from 2009/2010 Session.

• MOHE (now Ministry of Education) also introduces a program call


University Ambassador:

“an effort to make theuniversity students as agents of change


andconnector between the governments and community in preparing the
students to become a leader in future.”
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES
• Enhance the awareness about 'Go
Green' among the school pupils.
• Educate pupils to recycle used materials
especially plastic and paper.
• Reduce the number of waste and create
a greeny environment.
• Create a sense of Love for the nature.
• Build communities of people who take
action towards smarter, more
environmentally friendly consumption.
PROGRAMME AIM
 Enhance the knowledge about
Service Learning among
postgraduate students.
 Implement the Service Learning in
teaching and learning.
 Teach pupils to love the nature and
preserve it's beauty.
 Learn skills about recycling the
used materials.
 Strenghthen the bonding between
lecturers, students and community.
BENEFITS OF THE PROGRAMME
Helps students and students from the School of
Education to implement teaching methods
according to university and community aspirations.
Enables students of School of Education conduct a
learning which fosters social responsibility and
nurtures active involvement in community service.
Schools ensure safe and healthy environments for
both students and staff.

CONSEQUENCE OF THE
PROGRAMME:
Pupils understand the concept of
'Go-Green'.
Pupils learn to recyles reusable
things such as plastic and paper.
Reduce the number of plastic
bottles in the school.
A new identity is born in the
school.(Go Green)
Pupils learn to plant using plastic
bottles.
Pupils begin to appreciate the
nature/ school environment.

FUTURE PLANS
• Transforms current project as on
going project. (long term)
• 'Project Food Decomposition' on
the next month.
• Improve the appearance of the
Green Park.
• Create strong collaboration with
NGO and parents about Go
Green.
