1) Introduction to the study
What is “ATTRITION”?

■ Attrition is defined as a gradual reduction of the size of workforce


through normal means, such as retirement, resignation or death.

■ Attrition is also called Total Turnover or Wastage Rate.


Why worry about Attrition?
■ It leads to recruitment , hiring and training costs.

■ It is costly but qualified employee replacements are hard to find.


Types of Attrition

■ Positive Attrition: Where the company inherits new talent when an employee is
dismissed due to underperformance.

■ Negative Attrition: When productive employee resigns cause loss of talent.


Reasons for Attrition
■ Unfair compensation & benefits
■ Lack of Challenge (Boring , Monotonous)
■ Lack of career growth
■ Issues with peers in the office
■ Health problem
■ Better Career opportunities
Generally it is more cost effective to retain employee than
to hire new ones!
3) Objective of study
Objectives:
■ To know the satisfactory level of employees towards their job and working conditions

■ To identify the factors which make employees dissatisfy about company’s policy and
norms.
■ To find out the reasons why the attrition occurs and the possible way to reduce it.

■ To give employee a chance to offer suggestion for area of improvement.


4) Research Methodology
Research Methodology:

■ Primary data: The primary data will be collected through the communication with the
employee and actually working in company

■ Secondary Data: It could be collected from book , website.


5) Scope Of Study
Scope of Study:
■ To determine effect of attrition on the organization.

■ Determination of solution to avoid or to control attrition

■ The study educates the cause of attrition for employee in an organization.
