INTRODUCTION
• Everyone struggles of finding an outlet to charge their phone.
• This problem leads to creation of wireless solar power charger
• A little device that utilizes the power of the sun to satisfy all our
cellular charging needs.
WHAT IS WIRELESS POWER CHARGING

• Wireless charging is one of the several methods of charging batteries without

the use of cable or device specific ac adapters.
• Wireless charging can be used for a wide variety of devices including cell
phones, laptops and Mp3 players as well as large objects such as robots and
electric cars.

COMPONENTS OF WIRELESS CHARGING

• Transmitter
• Antenna
• Receiver
TRANSMITTER

• A Power transmitter acts as a power source.

• It will transmit power to the receiver side.
• The transmission signals are mainly in between the RF/microwave range.
(Typically 900Mhz)
ANTENNAS

• It plays an important role of mediator between transmitter & receiver.

• Important specifications:
1. Impedance of antenna.
2. Gain of antenna.
• Impedance of antenna should match output impedance of power transmitter
and input impedance of rectifier circuit.
• Higher gain yields better result of design.
RECEIVER

• The receivers main purpose is to charge an AAA battery.

• For charging AC signal (microwave signal with a typical value of 900MHz)
is taken and fed to a rectifier circuit to get a D.C signal.
• A full-wave rectifier circuit is used because of its simplicity and efficiency in
converting A.C signal.
• At the output of the rectifier, the signal is not a D.C signal yet. Thus by
adding a capacitor and a resistor a smooth output can be achieved.

METHODS OF WIRELESS CHARGING

• Inductive charging.
• Resonance charging.
• Radio charging.
INDUCTIVE CHARGING

• Inductive charging is kind of short distance wireless charging.

• Inductive charging uses an electromagnetic field to transfer energy between
two objects through electromagnetic induction.
EXAMPLES

• Inductive charging is used for charging mid-sized items such as:

• Cell phones.
• Mp3 players.
• Electric Toothbrush.
• Smart watches.
RESONANCE CHARGING

• Resonance charging is used for items that require large amounts of power.
• In resonance charging, a copper coil attached to a power source is the sending
unit.
• Another coil, attached to the device to be charged, is the receiver.
• This method works over short distances (3-5 Meters).
EXAMPLES

• Electric car.
• Robot.
• vacuum cleaner.
• laptop.
RADIO CHARGING

• Radio charging is used for charging items with small batteries and low power
requirement devices.
• A transmitter, plugged into a socket, generates radio waves.
• When the receiver attached to the device is set to the same frequency as the
transmitter, it will charge the device’s battery.
• Radio charging is used for long range.
EXAMPLES

• Watches.
• Medical implants.
• Wireless keyboard.
• Wireless Mouse etc.,
ADVANTAGES

• Use of seperate chargers are eliminated.

• Consumes less electricity.
• Phone can be charged anywhere.
• Saves the time for charging.
• Convenient and simple to use.
• Safer for medical devices.
DISADVANTAGES

• Lower Efficiency emits heat.

• More costly due to use of coils in both devices.
• Slower Charging due to lower Efficiency.
• Inconvenience because while charging must be left on the charging pad,
mobile can’t be operated easily.
• Radiation problems also may occur.
APPLICATIONS

• Inductive coupling.
• In vehicle charging.
• Radio charging.
• Wireless implantable medical devices.
• Ultra Wideband.
CONCLUSION

• The technology provides a wide range of other obvious benifits, including better portability,
lower cost and best of all the end of having to guess which charger go what gadgets.
• It is one of the technique to Wireless solar power charging without depend on power outlet.
• Firstly, researchers all over are working towards increasing and maximizing the efficiency of
solar cells.
• Magnifying concentrated photovoltaic in solar cells. .
• It can be worked on is decreasing the thickness of solar cells without losing efficiency.
