WHAT IS…
ANGINA PECTORIS
Angina pectoris is defined as a clinical
syndrome characterized by discomfort
in the chest, jaw, shoulder, back, or arm.
Although angina is typically brought on
by exertion and relieved by nitroglycerin
(NTG), its presentation is variable. At
one extreme, angina occurs predictably
with strenuous exercise; at the other,
angina can develop unexpectedly with
little or no exertion as a result of plaqu
erupture or coronary vasospasm
PATOFISIOLOGI
SUBJECT
Sensation of pressure or heavy
weight on chest alone or with pain.
Pain described variably as feeling of
tightness, burning, crushing,
squeezing, vicelike aching or“deep”.
Gradual increase in intensity
followed by gradual fading away
(distinguished from esophageal
spasm). Shortness of breath with
feeling of constriction about the
larynx of upper trachea
