QUALITY ASSURANCE
• It is the process of verifying or determining whether
products or services meet or exceed customer
expectations. Quality assurance is a process driven
approach with specific steps to help define and attain
goals. This process considers design, development ,
production , and service.
• It refers to planned and systematic production
processes that provide confidence in a product
suitability for its intended purpose. It is a set of
activities intended to ensure that products (goods
and /or services) satisfy customer requirements in a
systematic, reliable fashion.
• Quality Assurance cannot absolutely
guarantee the production of quality
products, unfortunately , but makes this
more likely.

• It is the main pillar of any business.

Whatever is the business , either finance or
a storage facility or any service , quality is
the most important aspect, which affects
the level of success of the business.
The four Quality Assurance steps
within the PDCA model stand for:-
• Plan:- Establish objectives and processes
required to deliver the desired results.
• Do:- Implement the process developed.
• Check:- Monitor and evaluate the
implemented process by testing the results
against the predetermined objectives.
• Act:- Apply actions necessary for improvement
if the results require changes.
Two key principles characterize QA
• Fit for purpose :- The product should be
suitable for the intended purpose.

• Right first time : - Mistakes should be

eliminated.
Quality Control v/s Quality Assurance
• Quality Assurance
1. Quality assurance can be defined as "part of quality
management focused on providing confidence that quality
requirements will be fulfilled." The confidence provided by
quality assurance is twofold—internally to management and
externally to customers, government agencies, regulators,
certifiers, and third parties.
2. An alternate definition is "all the planned and systematic
activities implemented within the quality system that can be
demonstrated to provide confidence that a product or service
will fulfill requirements for quality."
• Quality Control
1. Quality control can be defined as "part
of quality management focused on
fulfilling quality requirements." While quality
assurance relates to how a process is
performed or how a product is made, quality
control is more the inspection aspect of
quality management.
2. An alternate definition is "the operational
techniques and activities used to fulfill
requirements for quality."
Importance of Quality Assurance
• Time Efficiency
* A quality assurance team can reduce the amount of inspections
required in a manufacturing organization. The quality assurance team
is separate from the production group, and can therefore be objective
in identifying time-wasting areas during production. They also ensure
that production workers don't use valuable production time to inspect
or evaluate the production system.
• Increased Customer Satisfaction
* The quality assurance system improves the quality of products and
services, which increases customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction
leads to repeat business, customer referrals, increased sales and
profits. A quality assurance system eliminates defective products and
continuously evaluates the process to improve products and services.
Quality assurance can result in a consistently reliable product or
service. Increased reliability in the end product results in customer
satisfaction and brand loyalty. Companies with reliable quality gain a
favorable reputation in the industry.
Skills Percieved
• Planning and organisation skills.
• Teamworking skills.
• Communication skills.
• Leadership skills.

Quality Assurance process.

always be discussed.

Organisation in terms of cost reduction , increase
in corporate performance and productivity,
profitability and market share , competitiveness
and customer satisfaction
