• Victor D’cuhna was directly recruited in a company as in
charge of data processing cell of the region administration
office.
• The main motive of his cell was planning and monitoring.
The female employees dominated the junior cadre who
were not formally trained.
• The administrative cell decided to give fresh recruits on
job training because the results were not as expected and
blame directly came on data processing cell.
• Victor realized the problem that certain functional aspects
of administrative office were not clearly understood and
were being blindly followed.
• Therefore, Victor decided to conduct seminar for officer
cadre on Communication and Feedback followed by one-
week training for clerical cadre.

• This was appreciated by everyone including senior


management. But female employees had ignorant attitude
and thought that victor was a show off and junior promoted
officers had problems against him.
• One day Victor had an argument with female employee as
she had submitted the nil returns which was not
acceptable. She told him that he had no right to question
her and is answerable only to her officer.
• This led to an argument between the two and therefore
Victor fired the female employee
• She made an allegations against him to the higher authority.
Victor tried to justify his action and also reported same to
the Chief Regional Officer.
• Instead management transfer him to another place instead
of transferring him to another department of same place.
Further this was humiliating for him and he left the job.

Q.1 diagnose the problem and enumerate the
reasons for the failure of D’cuhna?
Problems:
• Ignorant attitude of female employees.
• Miscommunication
• Certain functions of administrational office were
not clearly understood by various functionaries.
• System were blindly followed.
• Controversial and scanty feedback.
• Lack of solidatary
• Clichés in different level of organization
• False allegations

Reasons for the failure of

• Victor though was been supported and
admired by the directly recruited staff
and specialist staff he had to face
jealousy from senior management as
they were not happy with his appraisal
in the office so somehow he had a non
supporting staff which included the
large no. of female workers who did not
obey and listen to him.
• All these were the reasons of his failure
as he lacked the quality of good leader.

Q.2 What could D’cuhna have done to avoid
the situation in which he found himself?
• Unity of command.

• Espirit de corps.

• He should have reported to higher


authority. So, this might have provided him
with her help and they mutually could have
handled the situation and no false
allegations had been charged. Unity of
