Recall
A. Activity 1: Another kind of Equation
Below are different equation use these equations to
answer the questions that follow.
a. f.
b. g.
c. h.
d. i.
e. j.
Activity # 2: Real step to Quadratic Equation
Use the situation below to answer the question that
follow.
"Mrs. Jacinto asked a carpenter to construct a
rectangular bulletin board for her classroom. She told the
told the carpenter that the board's are must be 18 square
feet."
1.) Draw a diagram to illustrate the Bulletin Board?
2.) What are the possible dimension of the bulletin board?
Give at least 2 pairs of possible dimension.
3.) How did you determine the possible dimension of the
bulletin board?
4.) Suppose the length of the board is 7ft longer that its
width what equation would represent the given
situation?
5.) How would you describe the situation formulated?
6.) Do you think you can use the equation formulated to
find the length and the width of the bulletin board?
Justify your answer.

Teacher Note:
The students will be asked to write or explain their
observation on the given equation and presented to the
class.

B.) Analysis:
What can you say about your observation
regarding given equation?
How did you find the proceeding activity?
Are you ready to learn about quadratic equation?
C.) Abstraction:
1.) Quadratic Equation is any equation having the
form where x represent an unknown, and a, b, and c
represent known numbers with a≠0. if a=0, then the
equation is linear, not quadratic as there is no term.
Quadratic equation can be written in the standard form
𝑎𝑥 2 + 𝑏𝑥 + 𝑐 = 0
whereas,
𝑎𝑥 2 is quadratic Term
bx - Linear Term
c - Constant
Example:
Identify each equation stated be if is a quadratic
equation written in standard form
1.) 2𝑥 2 + 5𝑥 − 3 = 0 is a quadratic equation in
standard form with a=2, b=5,
and c=-3
