PROJECT AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

• The main goal of our project is to build:


• Robotic system able to carry out complex mission specifications in
a warehouse given by the user.
• Navigate around obstacles and systematically coordinate with one
another.
• Enable robots to localize themselves and estimate the state and
dimensions of their highly dynamic environment.

SELECTION OF MICROCONTROLLER

 Various options for microcontrollers are available


for a project of this caliber such as Arduino AT-
mega series, Dragon board, NI DAC, STM 32,
Raspberry Pi etc.

 The selection of the microcontroller depended


upon the number of interrupts of the machine, the
memory required to run the program, and specific
custom requirements for the project such as
compatibility with touchscreen LCD.

 Raspberry Pi fulfilled these requirements the most


in this case and hence, has been selected.

RASPBERRY PI
 A series of small single-board computers developed first in
the United Kingdom by Raspberry Pi Foundation [1].

 Early concepts were based on the Atmel Atmega644


microcontroller in 2006 [3]. Since then, it has aided in
development of various protypes and projects in numerous
fields, including laboratory automation.

 Preferred programming language is Python due to its


compatibility with Raspberry Pi, its line to line compilation,
file handling and data base.
