Karinding
Karinding (n), It consists of 3 segments, right,
center and left. As the handle is on the left, the
right is the part that is hit and the middle is the
closest place to the mouth, where the air and
tongue make beautiful music sounds when they
meet with vibrations from the right.

Karinding
Nowsaday, Karinding has reached to many circles,
popularized by Abah Olot and Karinding Attack. As
function Karinding has two things to do, as a
musical instrument and as a music repellent pests
that like to damage the fields.

In the past, Karinding (Bamboo)
was used by the women and
Karinding (palm frond) was used
by the men. In today, both of
them are used by the people.

Karinding is usually played solo or
in a group (containing 2 to 5
people). One of them is called a
rhythm regulator. And it has 4
rhythm/Pirigan (to proximate).
Abah Olot said there were
Tonggeret,
Tutunggulan/Gogondangan,
Rereogan, and Iring-Iringan.

Olot and Karinding Attack are the
famous figure that keep the
Karinding from extinction. It is
played and added with others
such as Metal Music, Beatbox and
Freestyle of Pirigan.
