Announcements

Announcement atau pengumuman ialah teks yang dituliskan

dengan bahasa resmi/baku dan berfungsi untuk memberikan
pemberitahuan atau informasi tentang sesuatu agar diketahui
orang banyak.
Pengumuman terdiri dari judul yang biasanya dituliskan
dengan huruf yang di bold (kadang tdak disebutkan dengan
jelas) dan detail dari hal yang diumumkan.
Contoh:

ATTENTION TO ALL STUDENTS
To commemorate our school anniversary, we will hold several
competitions as follows:
a. English contest (speech & storytelling)
b. Sport competitions (basketball, football, & volleyball)
c. Traditional Dances
d. Karaoke
All classes must send their representatives to join each of the competition.
Registration is open from March 25th– 30th at the Student Centre every
day after school. There will be trophies and some other interesting prizes for
the winners. Special prize is available for the class that wins in the most of
categories. Don’t forget to enroll as soon as possible The committee.

When can students register to join the competitions?

A. On the twenty-fifth day of March.
B. Every day except Saturday and Sunday.
C. On the school anniversary.
D. From March the twenty fifth to the thirtieth.

Attention
To commemorate the upcoming National Education Day, the students
Board organization will hold some interesting programs. They are
English speech contest, English story telling contest and wall magazine
competition. The objective of the programs is to develop students’ skill
in English. The program will be held on May 1th, 2011. The English
speech contest and the English story telling contest will begin at 08.00.
While the wall magazine competition will start at 10.00. The
contestants should be ready at 07.30 a.m. All classes must take part in
the program. For detailed information, please contact the coordinator
of the programs, Julia of Class 8-2.

pengumuman biasanya tujuan masih berkaitan dengan
event yang diumumkan. Karena pengumuman berkaitan
dengan lomba berbahasa Inggris, tujuan harus berkaitan
dengan bahasa inggris dan tujuan selalu bersifat
membangun/positif. Dari situ kita bisa simpulkan bahwa
jawaban yang paling masuk akal untuk soal ini adalah
“The students can increase their abilities in English”
