WHAT/WHEN
WHAT IS THAT AND WHEN DO WE USE IT?

Simply put: THE WAY WE SPEAK!

Volume: created by contrasting loudness and softness


Pitch: created by using ranges in your speaking voice (high & low)
Speed: the rate/pace/tempo at which you speak (fast vs slow)
Intonation: the manner or delivery of your speech
Tone: attitude, emphasis
Rhythm: pattern of sound that is created by contrasts and alterations of different recurring sounds
Pronunciation: vowels, consonants
Resonance/timbre: the intensity/quality of the tone you hear when you sing or speak
Others: pause (silence)
WHAT DOES IT CONVEY?

WHY DO WE NEED VOCAL VARIETY?
