About Us

 As a domestic apparel manufacturing


company, Ambattur Clothing Private
Limited(ACPL) pioneered ready to wear
clothing for the Indian market.
 It was established in 1965
 The Company was founded by Vijay
Mahtaney.
 The Company's line of business
includes the manufacturing of
women's and misses blouses and
shirts.
History
 Established in the 1981 when the Indian Garment Industry was entering a golden
era in Fashions.
 ACL started with just one production unit that has grown to become the fifth
largest exporter in India with 10 production facilities in the country and one at
Baharin.
 The Company has an employee base of 5,200 workers managed by 400
professionals.
 Today, ACPL manufactures in three countries, with more than 20,000 associates.
 A global strategic presence equips ACPL with the benefits of scale, low cost, duty
free and dexterity.

H.E.R
H.E.R HEALTH
 This program teaches women in
factories, the importance of general and
reproductive health.
 This is in order to challenge harmful
taboos.
 The project was launched in Ambattur
Clothing India in the year 2012.
 The practice is still followed and
greatly appreciated by the workers.
 There are over 1500 trained
employees in India and 4500 in
Bangladesh.
H.E.R FINANCE

This project was launched in 2016 to


empower low-income women working in
global supply chains through workplace
programs promoting economic
empowerment, and women’s rights to have
proper knowledge, skills and attitudes
towards financial services and can help
them save, build credit worthiness, invest
in economic opportunities, and reduce risks
related to illness or loss of employment.
P.A.C.E

 Advancing women to advance the world


 In 2007, Gap Inc. launched the P..A.C.E
(Personal Advancement & Career
Enhancement) program, aimed at training
female garment workers in technical and
social skills so they can advance in work
and personal life.
 P.A.C.E works with global partners
allowing them to increase their local
presence in nations where GAP
manufactures its products.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

 Fresh, Fun, Focused is the motto of the


ACL Product Development team.
 The design development team strives to
deliver creative products that fit the
buyer aesthetic each season and
believes in a detailed and buyer-
personalized approach.
 At Ambattur Clothing, the “Product
People” keep updated with fresh fabric
ideas, new developments in the fashion
world, develop new techniques be it in
washing, finishing, silhouettes or
surface embellishment.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Detailed forecasting, study of trends
 Developing seasonal concepts and range planning
 Continuous interactions with buyers to understand
aesthetic and requirements
 Source the raw material required to develop the
collection
 Thorough development of range in terms of silhouettes,
fabrics, trims and any additional surface embellishments
 Constantly innovating and developing washes and
finishes
 Presenting a cohesive collection each season meeting
buyer requirements and standards
 Lending an aesthetic eye to other departments as and
when needed
MARKETING
 The nerve center for communication
within the company, as well as the
representative to our clients and
suppliers, the marketing team at
Ambattur juggles multiple roles
throughout the year. Not only does this
team manage orders and costs, but also
is very active in innovating along with
the product development team.

 As fashion trends change and the pace to market quickens, company has tied up for 3D
Technology to empower and stay on the leading edge of technology. This includes
constant innovation, full lifecycle customer support, and a passionate belief that
inspiration is everywhere — a passion to share and transforming the way fashion will be
tomorrow.

PRE-PRODUCTION
 The pre production department is located at all
centers and caters to all the production facilities at
India ,Dhaka and Jordan.
 It consists of Pattern ,sampling and R&D
department.
 The pre production departments get first
information with regards to buyers/ styles /fabrics
and ensure that patterns and samples are made in
accordance with the requirement of the buyer.

 The pre production department ensures that the all


styles that are planned in the factories are approved
within the given time frame.
 The team strength is 324 personnel in India, 300 in
Dhaka and 70 in Jordan.
 Production process is supported with about 6000
state of the art machineries,modern layouts,top
class material handling systems and optimum care
at needle point to meet quality and quantity
requirements.
LAUNDRY
 The laundries at India and Bangladesh have a
capacity of 275,000 pieces and 650,000 per
month respectively with washes ranging from
enzyme to various garment dye and denim
washes.
 A new laundry with a floor area of 100,000 sq.
ft is nearing completion in Dhaka and expected
to go into full operation early 2017 with a
production capacity of 2.78 million pieces per
month.
 India is working towards sustainable
manufacturing and currently recycling 20%
waste water and has planned to increase this to
40% in 2017.
