HAND TOOLS

TOPIC
OBJECTIVES:

 Identify the different types and kinds of hand


tools.
 Determine the functions and proper usage of
hand tools.
 Demonstrate the step by step procedures
before and after doing an activity (includes
checking of tools to be used).

usage of hand tools.
 Applying safety when doing laboratory
activity.
METHODS:

 Demonstration of checking every part of


the hand tool and workplace for safety.
 Demonstration of proper handling and
usage of tools to the whole class.
 Teaching one-on-one process to those who
find the activity difficult.
METHODS:

 Wearing personal protective equipment


(PPE) at work or at laboratory activity.
 Applying safety at all times.
EXPERIENCES:

 Self experienced obtained from previous


work and learned from trainings and
seminars attended.
 Tutorial videos by other people doing or
working related to the activity.
MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES

 PowerPoint presentation, educational


videos (tutorials), actual hand tools
(hammer, pile, screwdriver, plier, hacksaw,
etc.)
 Assembly table, working table
 Shop Work/Laboratory shop
ROLES:

STUDENT A:
Tool keeper - records all the hand tools
logged out and who borrows it.
STUDENT B:
Assistant Tool keeper – checks if the returned
hand tools are in good condition.
INSTRUCTION:

1. Identify the different types and kinds of


hand tools.
2. Check the condition of the hand tools
before and after using it.
3. Check your workplace or working table
before and after the laboratory activity.
INSTRUCTION:

4. Wear PPE before doing the activity.


5. Demonstrate the proper handling and
usage of tools by repairing
appliances/things.
6. Apply safety when using the tools.
EVALUATION:

o Written test about hand tools.


o Rubrics for the demonstration of the proper
handling and usage of hand tools.
REFINE THE PROCESS:

o If accident occur during the activity,


immediately stops all the other activity of
students.
o Check the injured victim and see what aid
would be needed (first-aid/hospitalization).
