MYP Language

Acquisition
Objectives
Phase 1 and 2
2015-2016
Lines of Inquiry:
 What do I need to do in order to
successfully complete MYP Phase 1 or
MYP phase 2?
 How will I be assessed?
 How does the grading system work?
 What are the language objectives?
 Each of the four main MYP criteria will be
assessed twice per academic school year.
 These four MYP Criteria are named as
follows:

1) Criterion A: Comprehending spoken and

visual text.
2) Criterion B: Comprehending written and
visual text.
3) Criterion C: Communicating in response
to spoken, written and visual text.
4) Criterion D: Using language in spoken and
written form.
 Each of these four criteria is graded out
of a total of eight (8) points within the
format of an assessment rubric.
 A passing grade out of the 8 total
possible points is a 4.
 As a final approach you will add up each
obtained score you earned per
assessment throughout the course of
this school year (out of a possible total
of 8 points per assessment) and this in
turn will provide you with an
individualized score out of a total of 32
possible points.
 A Best fit grade towards each of the four
(4) assessed criteria which will be
assessed twice per year will be
determined per student as an end result
goal.
