THE RIFLE SQUAD HAS TWO(2) FIRE TEAMS
FIRE TEAM “A”
FIRE TEAM “B”
EACH FIRE TEAM IS COMPOSED OF:

GRENADIER
AUTOMATIC RIFLEMAN
RIFLEMAN
 MISSION

TO CLOSE WITH THE ENEMY BY MEANS OF

FIRE AND MANEUVER TO DESTROY OR CAPTURE
HIM OR REPEL HIS ASSAULT BY FIRE, CLOSE
COMBAT AND COUNTER ATTACK
 CAPABILITIES
The Infantry Rifle Squad can:
1. Provide a base of fire and maneuver
2. Close with the enemy to destroy or capture him
3. Repel & assault by fire, close combat & counter attack.
4. Seize and hold terrain
5. Maneuver in all types of local weather & terrain.
6. Conduct combat operation under limited visibility.
 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. RIFLE SQUAD LEADER
Responsible for all what the Rifle Squad does or fails to do. He is the
tactical leader, as such, leads by example.
Armament: M16 Assault Rifle
Equipment: Map & Compass, Handheld FM Radio, Binocular, Utility
Rope
 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
2. TEAM LEADER
The soldier fighting leader who lead by personal example and help the
squad leader as required.
Armaments: M16 Assault Rifle, LAW
Equipment: Map & Compass, NVG, Utility Rope
3. AUTOMATIC RIFLEMAN
This soldier is responsible in providing sustained automatic fires for the
squad. Secure the left flank area during movements & halts.

Armaments: Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW) ULTIMAx

Equipment: SAW Ammo Pouches, Utility Rope
 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
4. GRENADIER
This soldier provides grenade capability to the squad and the platoon for
maximum firepower.
Armaments: M16 Assault Rifle attached with 40mm GL
Equipment: 40mm Ammo Pouch, Utility Rope
5. RIFLEMAN
This soldier is responsible for the food supply and medical requirements of
the team.
Armaments: M16 Assault Rifle
Equipment: Medical Kit, Cooking Utensils, Utility Rope
