Semantically speaking, ' social bookmarking' is made up of the

term " social " which is related to society and general
interactions between people, and the verb " to bookmark "
(used here as a gerund ending in ing) which has to do with
recording and/or saving content for both later use and quick

A Great Rubric for Evaluating Web Content

Here is another wonderful rubric from University of
Wisconsin on the different criteria to use to evaluate
websites . Students and parents can use it to assess web
content in terms of its relevance to what is being taught in
class. It can also be used as a tool for self-asessment and
peer feedback.
This rubric covers 8 major criteria :

Content:
This criterion is for evaluating the usefulness of the content of webpages in terms of the
information it has, the quality of the content, how frequently the content is updated,
and whether it includes feedback loops such as surveys, forms or questionnaires.

Multimedia
This one assesses the use of multimedia elements in web content. These elements
include, photos, graphics, sound, video and animation. It specifically looks into how
these elements are integrated into the texture of the content and to what effect they
are used.
Fair Use Guidelines
This one looks into how citations are being used (if at all) in web
content

Internal and External Navigation

This criterion examines the validity of the the internal links ( links
directing to other pages within the same website) and external links
(links leading to content in other websites). It also looks into how the
linking system is being built into the website and whether or not it
facilitates users navigation.
Layout and Text Elements
This has to do with the typography of the web content: size and font of
the text, the uses of headlines and subtitles, use of italics and
indentations. It also examines the format of the page, the colour being
used and the background and whether these elements enhance the
general readability of the text or not.

Contact Person, Copyright and Update Information

Does the web page includes a a section where users can contact the
author and read more information about the website such as the date
of creation and copyright information ?
Speed Web Pages
Does the page load quickly? How images are featured into the
web page and whether they include tags to help users get an
idea of what they are about if they do not show up properly.

Writing Mechanics
This criterion evaluates the written content of a web page in
terms of grammatical errors, capitalization, punctuation, and
spelling.
18- Use digital tools for time management purposes
Here are some tools for teachers to develop this skill :
Some Very Good Tools for Better Time Management

Maintaining focus in a world permeated with all kinds of digital

distractions becomes a real challenge. Ironically enough, this
same technology that distracts us can be used to fight off
distraction. There are now several productivity and time
management apps that you can use on your iPad to help you
better ration your time and control how you spend it.

the Pomodoro Technique™, one of the most effective time
management methods out there. Not only will you get a

aspect of the technique, but you will also enjoy a clear
and beautiful user interface.

the Pomodoro Technique. It sets up a loop

professional life. Jot down your ideas, add pictures,
update your shopping list, and check your to-do's from

20- Use of online sticky notes to capture interesting ideas

Conventional Methods
of Teaching
What is Conventional Methods of Teaching?
This term will be used in this study to refer to
the teaching using chalk and board for
teachers; pen and paper for students. Rather
the teacher uses other methods such as
demonstration using examples, lecture
methods, question answer methods among
others.
The blackboard is a reusable writing surface on
which text or drawings are made with sticks of calcium
sulphate or calcium carbonate, known, when used for
this purpose, as chalk. Blackboards were originally
made of smooth, thin sheets of black or dark grey
slate stone. Modern versions are often green because
the colour is considered easier on the eyes.
Realia
The main advantage of using real objects into the classroom is to make
the learning experience more memorable for the learner. To give a
couple of simple examples, if you are going to teach vocabulary of
fruit and vegetables it can be much more affective for students if they
can touch, smell and see the objects at the same time as hearing the new
word. This would appeal to a wider range of learner styles than a
simple flashcard picture of the piece of fruit or vegetable. (With very
young learners, classroom management can become trickier if you bring
in real objects as excitement levels tend to rise. Last year one of my
students bit into an onion we were passing round.
Posters and wall charts
A wall chart is a type of large poster often displaying
information for education and entertaiment.
Great posters and charts for all subjects to hang on
walls to display around classrooms or hallways. A
variety of different subjects so children can learn the
fun way with charts to attach pieces to for fun games
also.
Flashcards
Flashcards are a simple, versatile, yet often
underexploited resource. I would like to offer
some reasons for using flash cards and a
selection of activities for use in the Young
Learner classroom, although some of the
activities could also be used with fun-loving,
lower level adult classes.
The textbook
A textbook or coursebook is a manual of instruction in any branch of
study.. Textbooks are produced according to the demands of
educational institutions. Although most textbooks are only published
in printed format,
As you visit classrooms, you probably notice that most, if not all, of
those classrooms use a standard textbook series. The reasons for this
are many, depending on the design and focus of the curriculum, the
mandates of the administration, and/or the level of expertise on the
part of classroom teachers.
Digital Learning
Resource
The term 'digital learning resource' is used here to refer to materials
included in the context of a course that support the learner's
achievement of the described learning goals. These materials consist of
a wide variety of digitally formatted resources including:
• graphics images or photos
• audio and video
• simulations
• animations
• prepared or programmed learning modules.
