• b. Commitment of work – Ex. 20:9 “Six days you
shall labor and do all your work”
• c. Commitment of friendships – deep
commitment.
• d. Commitment to God – The most important
relationship!
PSALM 37:5

LORD, TRUST HIM AND HE WILL HELP YOU.
HE WILL MAKE YOUR INNOCENCE RADIATE
LIKE THE DAWN, AND THE JUSTICE OF YOUR

COMMIT YOUR WAY: TURN TO THE LORD

• What were the disciples like? They were

people who were committed to a master!
They followed this master and committed
their life AND their ways to Him!

• It also meant committing to God all your

ways, not just the ones I feel like I can't
handle!
•Commitment isn’t about what I get
out of my obedience…

•Commitment is what Christ expects

of us to do!

• Turning over to the Lord my ways would mean

that you are subject to His will, so don't complain
when He makes changes to our lives...
• It is a daily event - turning to the Lord and
committing your ways!
 IN BUILDING A LIFE OF COMMITMENT...

• IT WILL REAVEAL YOUR VALUES. (Matthew 6:24)

• Commitment must not only commit our way to the Lord but
also we must trust His very nature ... HE IS GOD!
• A trust that God really is who He says He is and that He will
do all that He says He will do!
• Trust and commitment go hand in hand!
• We are to go above dedication … to be absolutely
committed.

FATHER AND MOTHER, WIFE AND
CHILDREN, BROTHERS AND SISTERS --

HOW DO WE DEMONSTRATE
COMMITMENT?

• Give God your very First Thoughts in Each

Day.
• "Each morning I will look to You in heaven
and lay my requests before You..." (Psalm
5:3); (Romans 12:2)

before you and wait expectantly

Do not conform to the pattern of this
world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind. Then you will be

Every Decision.

• What will He do? “He will make your righteous reward

• Once we show our commitment and trust in Him, God
lets the world see the righteousness of the believer as
that commitment and trust is tested!
• As others watch our lives, our commitment and trust,
they will come to understand the power of the
Almighty God through His servants.
THE DIFFICULTIES OF COMMITMENT

•We Get DISTRACTED.

"The attractions of this world, the delights
of wealth, the search for success and lure
of nice things come in and crowd out
God." (Mark 4:19)
• We Get COMPLACENT.

• We COMPROMISE Our Convictions.

uncompromising commitment of Daniel
 CONTROL YOUR WILL: GOD IS ALWAYS
TIMELY
• "Wait for the Lord"... how? "By keeping His
way"
• Thus in waiting we are active not passive!
We are to keep His ways while waiting!
• To wait doesn't mean sitting still; it means to
remain faithful while waiting!
• God has never been late yet
WHO/ WHAT ARE
YOU COMMITTED
TO?
 BE COMMITTED TO GOD
• Real commitment does not have an on and
off switch.
• Real commitment is not a Sunday thing, it is 24
hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year,
with no vacations or off days. You are the
same person on Monday through Saturday as
you are on Sunday.
• It will show
 BE COMMITTED TO FAMILY

• The Bible defines the way a family should be.

(Col. 3:18-20), 18) Wives, submit yourselves
unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives. Children, obey
your parents in all things: for this is well
pleasing unto the Lord.
• Be committed to the salvation of your family

• God promises to assume RESPONSIBILITY for your
needs in this life. (Matthew 6:31-33)
