ABSTRACT

• This paper introduces and analyses the information

technology in building energy saving
• Provides a suitable solution for Medium and high
power systems to synthesize output voltage with
reduced harmonic content
EXISTING SYSTEM

• Digital logic control circuit is proposed to achieve

higher levels with reduced number of switches
without the requirement of bidirectional switches
• The switches are high and switching losses are also
high.
• The techniques include ‘binary’, ‘trinary and
modified multilevel connections
PROPOSED SYSTEM

• Proposed new multilevel inverter with reduced

number of switches and the switching losses is
also get reduced
• Level is increased up to 33 or 41 level with
reduced (THD)
BLOCK DIAGRAM
EXPLANATION

• Input supply:- AC
• Driver circuit: -It can be used to amplify the 5V
pulses to 12V for using transistor technology and
provided isolations for using opto coupler. It has two
functions,
 Amplification
 Isolation

Multilevel inverter

 Power electronic system that synthesizes a sinusoidal

voltage output from several DC sources.
Three types of multilevel inverter
 Diode Clamped multilevel inverters
 Flying Capacitor multilevel inverters
 Cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverters
OUTPUT WAVEFORM
MERITS

1 Suitable for large volt-ampere rated and /or high

voltage motor drives.
2. Higher efficiency because the devices can be
switched at minimum frequency.
3. No EMI problem or common mode voltage/current
problem exists.
4.Increase the level by adding one DC source and extra
switch for reducing harmonics
APPLICATIONS
• Adjustable speed ac drives,
• UPS static VAR compensators
• Active filters
• Flexible AC transmission system
• In all vehicle for lightning
