Primary international airport serving Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
World's busiest airport by international passenger traffic.
Second busiest airport in Asia by total passengers annually (8,82,42,099).
Had become the world’s number 1 airport for international passengers in 2014 (70.4 million paxs) & in 2017
(88.2 million paxs).

Dubai Airport has three passenger terminals:-


 Terminal 1 (T1) – International Terminal.
 Terminal 2 (T2) – Domestic Terminal.
 Terminal 3 (T3) – International Terminal.
Terminals 1 and 3 are directly connected with a common transit area,
while Terminal 2 is on the opposite side of the airport.

RUNWAYS

28th longest runway in the world,(4,447m).


Dubai Airport has two closely spaced parallel runways:
Runway 1 - 12R/30L is 4,000 m × 60 m (13,120 ft. × 200 ft.);
Runway 2 - 12L/30R is 4,000 m × 60 m (13,120 ft. × 200 ft.).
The gap between the centrelines of the two runways is 385 m
(1,263 ft.).

SECURITY

Dubai Airports owns and manages the operation and development


of both airports Dubai International (DXB) and Al
Maktoum International (DWC).
The Civil Aviation Authority of Dubai (CAAD) manages the
overall safety & security of the airport.
Pre-screening takes place in all terminals at the entrance of the
airport.

CARGO OPERATIONS

The airport handled 2.37 million tones of air cargo in 2014.


Now DXB has the capacity to handle 3.1 million tones of cargo per year.
35,000 sqm cargo facility.
Ranked 4th worldwide in terms of international freight traffic by the ACI.
Ranked 2nd for international freight.
Busiest airfreight hub in the Middle-East.
CONCLUSION
♫DXB is considered as the world’s busiest airport, even though it has only 2
runways, it is the third-busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic & the
sixth-busiest cargo airport in the world.
♫By 2017, DXB airport managed to carry 88 million passengers, 2.65
million tons of cargo, and 409.493 aircraft operations.
♫According to DASP 2020, the passenger traffic at the airports in DXB is
expected to increase to 98.5 million in 2020 from 47.2 million in 2010.
♫Dubai World Central is slated to become the world’s largest airport by 2030.
