 GLASSWARES: General Rules
• Protect your hands. Use gloves.
• Prevent damage to glassware when
handling and during storage
• Use appropriate glassware holders
• Inspect glassware before use
• Discard or repair broken glassware.
• Decontaminate and clean glassware
used for biological hazards/agents
 Chemical Safety
• Proper Labelling
• Proper Storage
• Familiarization and compiling of
Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
 Chemical Wastes
• Never dispose any chemicals down
the drain
• Store chemical wastes in appropriate
bottles
• Avoid mixing incompatible chemicals
• Label: Include name of chemicals and
concentration
