INTRODUCTION
• Fashion is an universal language. Not just limited to design of apparels and accessories, it is an act of
man. Globalization of information and mass media, is increasing fashion consciousness in society is
at a rapid rate.
• Hence, to attain global competency, the industry requires trained professionals who can spearhead
positive changes and exploit its inherent strength.

• National Institute of Fashion Technology was set up in 1986 under the aegis of the ministry of textiles,
government of India and is an institution of design, management and technology for the
international fashion business.
• It has emerged as the premier institute of design, management and technology, developing
professionals for taking up leadership positions in fashion business in the emerging global scenario.
• NIFT has 15 centers across India and New Delhi is considered as one of the best institute among all.
• Mumbai, Kolkata, Kangra, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Raebareli, Patna,
Shillong, Bhopal, Kannur, Bhubaneswar and jodhpur where it offers four-year bachelor and two-year
master programmes in the areas of design, management and technology.
• A new NIFT campus is proposed in Panchkula, Haryana aimed to develop textile, handloom and
cottage industry in Haryana.
AIM
The institute of fashion technology is an institute which deals with apparel design along with the practical
knowledge.
• It will undertake research, training in the field of fashion.
• It helps in not to lose sight of transforming Indian culture, traditions, aesthetic sensitivity and heritage
to create an Indian idiom of design, which is distinctive and strong in the world
• The institute will host seminars and fashion shows, which help the students in their education.
• To understand the characteristics and spatial requirement of the institute to design.
OBJECTIVE
To understand the environment of the fashion technology and enroll architecture in the creation of that
space.
• To treat the circulation spine and corridors, as the display gallery for the art works in order to create an
interest and creative learning for the students.
• To provide spaces encouraging a good interaction within the students as a part of the natural
learning process.
• To develop a circulation pattern which makes the whole experience enjoyable. •Landscape should
play an important role to enhance creativity and mental and psychological satisfaction of the people
who will be a part of the institute .
• Opportunity to deal with the different attitude of the different building meant for various purposes,
keeping the harmony.
• Site planning and layout plan of the whole project.
• Interation of open and built area will be considered an important design criteria.
• To develop technically competent human resources of Indian garment industry through
professional courses and programs and to assist the students in various fields.
SCOPE
•Classrooms and working areas will be provided with interesting interiors and space for the
display of the new creations.
• The institution will provide educational facilities to the students thus understanding the
works being performed in the fashion and textile industry.
• Works done will be promoted through exhibition halls and museum, helping the institute
to gain a new identity than other fashion institute .
• The goods displayed can be exported thus leading in the economic development of the
institute.
• This project will be the combination of art, architecture and design and thus creating a
landmark for the city like Haryana.

METHODOLOGY
STAGE 1
1. Collecting basic information about project and its promoting body.
2. Frame objective, scope, and limitation or the project
3. Data collection, literature study of the project. 4. Study of site and analysis of available information
STAGE 2
1. Selection of study building.
2. 2. Comparative analysis and basic justification of building program.
3. 3. Drive conclusion from the case study, which would help in forming area program and design criteria
for the proposed project.
STAGE 3- CONCEPT DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
1. From the literature study, site study and case study.
2. 2. To develop an integrated design solution to fit the requirement.
STAGE 4 - FINAL DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
1. Refinement of conceptual design.
