What is Socialism

organization which advocates that the means
of production, distribution, and exchange
should be owned or regulated by the
community as a whole.

TYPES OF SOCIALISM
1. Ethical socialism- is a political philosophy that
appeals to socialism on ethical and moral grounds
as opposed to economic, egoistic, and
consumeristic grounds.
2. Scientific socialism- refers to a method for
understanding and predicting social, economic and
material phenomena by examining their historical
trends through the use of the scientific method in
order to derive probable outcomes and probable
future developments.
3. Revolutionary socialism- is the socialist doctrine that
social revolution is necessary in order to bring about
structural changes to society. More specifically, it is the
view that revolution is a necessary precondition for a
transition from capitalism to socialism.
4. Reformism- is a political doctrine advocating the
reform of an existing system or institution instead of its
abolition and replacement.
5. Fundamentalist Socialism- A form of socialism that
seeks to abolish capitalism and replace it with a
qualitatively diff. kind of society.
