 No man is a island.
 Life is a fun ride where we come across
various relationships.
 Some relationships are defined and some
others are undefined.
 Life also demands us to make challenging
decisions.
 Dynamics of human relationships change as
one grows up.
Friends

Parents
 In your childhood
years parents are
your world.
 Parents are not
chosen, they are
our gifts.
 In childhood we
experience parental
pressure.
 In adolescence
years we are more
influenced by our
peers.
 Peers are your
friends or
associates who are
of your age.
 In this age we
experience peer
pressure.
 Peers influence your life, even if you don't
realize it, just by spending time with you.
You learn from them, and they learn from
you.
 It's only human nature to listen to and learn
from other people in your age group.
 Peer pressure is where you are pressurized
or forced to do something your peer does,
even if your uncomfortable doing it.

 To fit into the group.
 Difficulty saying NO to a friend.
 Inability to make judgment.
 Curiosity.
 Lack of self confidence/inner strength.
 It must be OK.
Instructions: Read each statement carefully. If
the statement is true of you answer YES or
if the statement is not true of you answer
NO. There are no right and wrong answers
so answer truthfully. Work quickly though
there is no time limit.

These people are capable of making
1-6 their own decisions. Don’t give into
peer pressure easily.
These people are on the borderline.
7-9 They are capable of making their own
decisions at times, and give into peer
pressure at times.
These people may be called as peer
10-15 addicts. They depend on their friends
for all decisions to be made, and
cannot live without friends.
 Listen to your gut- become self reliant and
self aware.
 Plan for possible pressure situations.
 Learn to feel comfortable saying “NO“.
 Socialize with a good group of friends.
 Build a strong sense of self confidence and
self esteem.
 Know your limits and have respect for
yourself.
 Remember the consequences of your
actions.
 Communicate-be polite and explain.
 Blame your parents.
 Think will you be proud of this tomorrow?
 Get involved in positive activities.
 Walk away.
 Ask for help.
You will be divided into 6 groups. Each
group has to come up with a situation of
peer pressure, discuss and enact a role play.
The situation can be a positive or a negative
peer pressure situation.
