Behavioral Disorder
WHAT IS EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL
DISORDER?
• A condition in which emotional response of an
individual or different from generally accepted
norms
• An inability to build or maintain satisfactory
interpersonal relation with the parents and
teachers
• A specific diagnosis where the child displays
persistent and sever behaviors.
NATURE AND CHARACTERISTICS
• Inability to learn that can not be explained by
intellectual, sensory, or health factors
• Inappropriate types of behavior or feelings under
normal circumstances
• A General pervasive mood of unhappiness or
depression
• a tendency to develop physical symptoms of fears
associated with personal or school problems
CLASSIFICATION
Psychiatric disorder
Defined as mental, behavioral, or
perceptual patterns or anomalies which
impair daily functioning and cause distress.
COMMON EXAMPLES
Anxiety
Bipolar or depressive disorder
Eating disorder (anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating)
Obsessive – compulsive disorder
Psychotic disorder
BEHAVIORAL DISABILITIES
