TUBE TYRE VS TUBELESS
TUBE TYRE
The tube tyres are the tyres which have a separate
inner tube placed inside them. If tube tyre is
punctured then you are not able to drive the vehicle.

TUBELESS TYRE
The tubeless tires are the tyres which don’t have a tube
inside them. The tubeless tyre doesn’t mean it won’t work
with a tube, it just means it doesn’t have a tube. If the
tubeless tyre is punctured the tyre never goes at and it will
still run for days.

TIRE DESIGN
CONSIDERATIONS:

1 . Should have adequate capacity for both static and

dynamic loads.
2 . Should be able to withstand centrifugal loading.
3 . Side walls should have adequate strength so ribs are
provided on each side wall take to some wear and shock
loading involved.
4 . Should have good thermal conductivity.
5 . Structural stability, to resist degeneration.
6 . Gripping should be great to withstand acceleration,
braking, and cornering.
7 . Good ride comfort and light in weight.
EXAMPLE:
TIRE AND RIM DESIGN
The tires present in this project is standard 175/80R19 as in
Figure 4.17. where,

175 is Tire Section Width in mm.

80 is Tire Section Height in mm i.e., the difference between

tire’s outer diameter and rim diameter.

R 19 indicates diameter of the wheel rim in inches which is

approximately 482.6 mm.

Outer diameter of the tire is 30’’ or 762 mm.

Circumference is about 94.3’’ or 2395.22 mm.

The tires are of pneumatic the tubeless type
as in Figure 4.18 which do not require a
separate butyl rubber inner tube eliminating
the risk of a blowout during accidents since
tubeless tires even on getting punctured
leads to a gentle deflection of the tire. A
liquid sealant is often used to prevent
deflection.

Other advantages of tubeless tire include

less friction and heat generated. The
weight of the tire is very less and doesn’t
add to unspring mass much which is
around 5 kg.
The rim is the edge on the outside that
supports the tire as shown in Figure 4.19.
The tire is mounted on the rim and it provides
the tire rigidity so that it can maintain its
shape even under load. The rim used in this
project has a width of 11.24 cm and made of
chromium having a weight of 15 kg.

The front wheel rims have plate only on one

side to incorporate the wheel hub assembly
and the rear wheel has a rim with plates on
both sides. The tire rim assembly designed
such that there is is no slip between the two
and rotate in the same angle simultaneously.
