Creating a New
Presentation
To create a new blank
presentation:
1. Click the File tab. This takes you
to Backstage view.
2. Select New.
3. Select Blank
presentation under Available
Templates and Themes. It will be
highlighted by default.
4. Click Create. A new blank
presentation appears in the
PowerPoint window.
Entering Text
on a Slide
If you're new to PowerPoint, you'll
need to learn the basics of
working with text so you can add
and arrange text on your slides.
You'll need to know how
to insert, delete, move,
and format text, as well as how to
use text boxes.
1. Click the placeholder or text
TO INSERT box where you want to insert

2. The insertion point appears.
3. Type directly into the
placeholder or text box.

automatically format

list. This is because
bulleted lists are
frequently used in
PowerPoint. To remove

Using Format
Painter
1. Select the text, shape, or picture
with the formatting you want to
copy.
2. Click Home, and in
the Clipboard group, click Format
Painter.
3. After the pointer changes to a
paintbrush icon, click and drag to
select the text, shape, or picture
you want to format, and then
release the mouse button.
Formatting
Bullets
1. Select the text box or
specific text you want to
format as a bulleted list.
2. Click
the Bullets command in
the Paragraph group on
the Home tab.
3. A bulleted list will appear.
Aligning
Text
1. Select the text you want to modify.
2. Select one of the four alignment
