Oropharyngeal dysphagial treatment
Dysphagia caused by tumors or other
structural lesions can be corrected with surgery.
A number of therapy techniques are available
that directly address the swallowing problems.
These includes
dietary changes
feeding tubes
swallowing therapy
Oesophageal dysphagial treatment
Depending on the cause of oesophageal
dysphagia, it may be possible to treat it with
medication or surgery.
Some kinds of oesophageal dysphagia can be
treated with drugs such as cisapride or
domperidone.
When the cause is reflux oesophagitis, the
first treatment is anti-reflux therapy such as
proton pump inhibitors and cisapride.
