WHAT IS CBT?
MEANING OF CBT
 It is a training delivery approach
that focuses on the competency
development of the trainee as a result
of the training.

 Emphasizes most on what the


learner can actually do;

 Focuses on outcomes rather than


the learning process within the
specified time
PRINCIPLES OF CBT
10 Principles of Competency-
Based Training
1. Training is based on curriculum developed from the
competency standards.

2. Learning is competency-based or modular in


structure.

3. Training delivery is individualized and self-paced.

4. Training is based on work that must be performed.

5. Training materials are directly related to the


competency standards and the curriculum.
6. Assessment of learners is based in the collection of evidences
of work performance on industry or organizational required
standards.

7. Training is based on and off the job components and off the
job components.

8. The system allows Recognition of Prior Learning.

9. The system allows for learner to enter and exit programs at


different times and levels and to receive an award for
competencies attained at any point.

10. Approved training programs are nationally accredited by


UTPRAS ( Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation
System)

 Stimulates trainee’s motivation.

 Manages learning; a consultation rather than a


provider of information; a facilitator of learning.

 Diagnoses and solves learning problem


 Evaluates trainee achievement.

 Assist learners to obtain individualized rewards.

 Assist each trainee in designing a personalized plan of


study.

Roles of the Trainees
 Trainees may repeat request to receive credit for
what they already know.

 Trainees may choose how they want to learn


individually, on a one to one basis, in small group, in
large groups or with audio-visual.

 Trainees are responsible for what they learn and


when they learn it.
 Trainees may decide when they are ready to
perform a task.

 Work cooperatively with other trainees.

 Compete against the Job Standards not with other


trainees.

HILOT (WELLNESS MASSAGE) NC II Qualification
consists of competencies that a person must achieve to
plan the hilot wellness program of client/s, to provide
pre-service to client/s, apply massage techniques and
provide post-advise on post-service to client/s.
