VISION AND MISSION OF THE PROGRAM

Vision
To achieve national and international recognition by developing this
institution into an interdisciplinary collaborative hub where cutting-
edge civil engineering research and education produces graduates of
high caliber and potential.
Mission
To impart quality education to our graduates which prepares them
to be leaders in research and innovation in civil engineering and
inspires them to practice high ethical and moral standards with the
aim to serve society.

CIVIL ENGINEERING PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO)

PEO-1 (Engineering Practice)


• Apply knowledge, strong reasoning and quantitative skills to design and
implement creative and sustainable solutions in the field of Civil Engineering.
PEO-2 (Professional Growth)
• Engage in life-long learning to meet evolving engineering challenges of
modern day.
PEO-3 ( Social Service)
• Exhibit effective communication, critical thinking, interpersonal and
management skills as leaders and contributors embodying professional and
ethical behavior.

PLO-1 (Engineering Knowledge)


• Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an
engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PLO-2 (Problem Analysis)


• Identify, formulate, research literature and analyse complex engineering
problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of
mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.

PLO-3 ( Design/Development of Solutions )


• Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems,
components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate
consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and
environmental considerations.

PLO-4 (Investigation)
• Investigation - Conduct investigation into complex problems using research
based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments,
analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide
valid conclusions.

PLO-5 (Modern Tool Usage )


• Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern
engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to complex
engineering activities, with an understanding of the Limitations.
PLO-6 ( The Engineer and Society )
• Apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health,
safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant
to professional engineering practice..
