• It has so many definitions, but basically it is the vital element
in every aspects of life. For the purpose of this subject; for the
organization.
• It is the element that coordinates currents organizational
activities and plans for the future.

So, to sum up what management is…..

• Planning means Plan in advance

• Organizing means Coordination between human resources and

material resources

• Actuating means motivation and giving direction to subordinate

• Controlling means to ensure about implementation of plan

without deviation

• What is Arts and Cultural Management?
It is about how an organization or maybe an individual manage the
arts resources to be kept alive for future generation. For an
organization, it can be a government sector, private sector or non-
profit organization (NGOs), while for an individual, perhaps as
curators or arts managers that working in the field of cultural
management.
• Arts Management is also can be called as Arts Administration
• By having or learning this subject, students will learn the practical
skills needed to be an arts manager.
• What are arts, cultural and heritage? What are the differences?

Arts  refers individually or collectively created products of
value, the expression or application of creative skills and
imagination in the various branches of creative activity such as
paintings, sculpture, music, dance, theatre, films, graphic arts

Culture  refers to cumulative deposit of knowledge,

experience, beliefs, values, attitudes, meaning, hierarchies,
religion, notions of time, roles, spatial relations, concepts of the
universe, and material objects and possessions acquired by a
group of people in the course of generations through individual
and group striving

Heritage  refers to valued property such as historic buildings,

artworks, books, manuscripts, or other artefacts that have been
passed down from previous generations. They are of special
values and are worthy of preservation.
