Types of Dental Implants

two types:

 Endosteal Implants: directly placed into a patient’s jawbone. It is

 Subperiosteal Implants: placed into the gums, above the


jawbones. It is preferred when a patient’s jawbone doesn’t have
enough density.

Types of Dental Implants

Depending upon the number of teeth to be operated, there are


three types:

 Single tooth: It is used when a single tooth needs to be replaced. It may also
include grafting to support the implant.
 All-on-4: all the teeth are removed, and dentures are supported by 4
strategically positioned implants. When a patient has a strong jawbone and all
the teeth need to be replaced, all-on-4 dental implants are preferred.
 All-on-6: when the overlay dentures need more support, they are fixed on 6
dental implants.
