• The standard requires a load multiplier of, at least, 1.8. The calculation was stopped
when convergence was reached for a load multiplier of 2.
The maximum principal strain stabilizes below a strain of 5% with a load multiplier of 2.

Conclusions
The RFD cavity with the small racetrack was assessed following the EN 13445-3
standard – direct route.
Gross Plastic Deformation analysis show values of the elastic strain below 1% - the
acceptability limit is 5%.
Buckling analysis shows convergence and a maximum strain below the 5% for a
load multiplier of 2 – the acceptability limit is 1.8.
