THE JOURNEY

1946 Libeskind was born in “LODZ,POLAND” on May 12, 1946,


the year after World War II (1939–45) ended. Libeskind's
parents, Jews living under the dangerous regime of Nazi
Germany, had separately fled Poland when the war began.

1957 When Libeskind was eleven, he and his family


immigrated to Israel.

1959 He won an America-Israel Cultural Foundation


scholarship, which enabled the family to move to the
United States.

1965 He chose to study architecture, enrolling at the


Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science
and Art.
1968 Work as an apprentice to Richard Meier.

1970 Receives professional architectural degree from the Cooper


Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.

1972 Receives postgraduate degree in the history & theory of


architecture from the School of Comparative studies at Essex
University.

He stay longest Cranbrook Academy of Art. He did most of his
