The “feast that was in Judah” is the Feast of Tabernacles, which begins yearly on
the 15th day of the 7th lunar month. The sin which truly set Jeroboam apart was
changing God’s commanded Feast of Tabernacles from its appointed time to “the
month which he had devised in his own heart .” Many Israelites were led astray by
this deception, but did you know that an even greater deception now afflicts the
majority of Christianity? Have you ever wondered why Christmas and Easter are
not mentioned by name in the bible, and why there is no command to celebrate
these events? Like Jeroboam’s feast, these holidays were devised in the hearts of
men as a counterfeit of God’s Holy Days!

Isaiah_1:14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates; they
are a trouble to Me; I am weary to bear them.
1:14 There is a unique usage of language present in the further rebuke, “Your
New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals I hate with all my being. They
have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them” (Isaiah 1:14, TNIV).
Here, it should be apparent for the reader what these Torah-prescribed
institutions have developed, or some might say, devolved, into. The text
specifically says “I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts,”
chodshei’khem u’moadei’khem.
 Specifically, what God is saying is that He could not stand how the people
were celebrating His feasts, and so He called them “your New Moons and your
appointed times” (ATS), putting the responsibility on the people for the wrong
they have done.

THE MILLENNIUM IN THE CONTEXT OF YHWH’S SEVEN ANNUAL FEAST DAYS
The Set-apart Feast Days of YHWH are prophetic shadow-pictures or symbols of
the steps man must take to be reconciled to his Heavenly Father. They are the
complete plan of salvation or redemption rolled up into seven easyto-understand
steps. Though a child can understand these steps,
-- the truths contained therein can at the same time be expanded and unfolded
until one literally has rolled out before oneself the entire message of the Bible
from Genesis to Revelation — a message which to the human comprehension is
staggering, deep and rich beyond understanding.
These Feast Days are literally the skeletal structure upon which the truths of the
entire Bible hang. The message of redemption, sanctification, salvation, the
atonement, glorification, eschatology, the history of Israel, the entire Gospel

captivity…It is not too late yet, we can still repent and return to YHVH.

Exodus, "No leaven shall be found in your camp at all, seven days." That seven days
represented the full "seven church ages." See?
159 "No leaven." Now, what is that? No creed, no world. Jesus said, "If you love the world
or the things of the world, the love of God's not even in you." See? And we're trying to mix
that; you can't do it! You've got to come to one thing to believe: you're either going to
believe God, you're going to believe your church, you're going to believe the world. You--
you cannot mix it together. And
you can't hold to them old things that the
other church before you did. You've got to take the Message of the
hour.
 When Israel crossed the Red Sea this was a picture of the believer being delivered from the
bondage of sin;
 here crossing the Jordan is a picture of the believer claiming their spiritual inheritance in
Yeshua/ Jesus Chris  in the Millennial kingdom.
 Joshua is a type of Jesus Christ who leads us day by day into the inheritance He has planned
for us.
 However, it is required we take a step of faith.
 Unless we step out by faith and get our feet wet, we will not make much progress in living
the abundant life Jesus Christ died to provide us.
What did God say He would do for Joshua on this day?
“I will exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you.” (Joshua 3:7)
This is what the Lord did that day.
“That day the Lord exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel, and they revered him
all the days of his life, just as they had revered Moses.” (Joshua 4:14)
The Crossing of the Red Sea and the Crossing of the Jordan River:
What New Testament Truths Do These Crossings Symbolize?
WHY GOD DRIED UP THE JORDAN
1. One of the obvious reasons why God dried up the Jordan River was to facilitate
the conquest of the land of Canaan for His people.
 At this time of year the snows of Mount Hermon were melting, the Jordan
river would overflow its banks, and become as wide as one mile in places. It was
about a mile wide opposite Jericho.
-At this time of year the inhabitants of Canaan had reason to feel very secure: no
invading force would be able to cross the Jordan and attack them. ***
- The current of the Jordan was swift; enough rafts could not be made to ferry enough fighting
men across so that a siege might be laid to any of the Canaanite cities.
 However, YHVH God causes the waters of the Jordan river to stand up in heaps
and the river bed to dry up. The children of Israel may now march forward and
possess the land of Canaan – a way of advance had been opened up for them.
The Jordan River is a 251-kilometre (156 mi)-long river in the Middle East that flows roughly
north to south through the Sea of Galilee (Hebrew: ‫ כנרת‬Kinneret, Arabic: Bohayrat Tabaraya,
meaning Lake of Tiberias) and on to the Dead
2. A new generation has now succeeded the old: they too needed to
witness the power of God in the physical universe.
 This demonstration of God’s power would give them assurance as they went
into the land of Canaan and were confronted with odds which, from a purely
military perspective, would be impossible.
 The generation of the Israelites which came out of Egypt had witnessed the
mighty power of God over the natural creation in the drying up of the Red Sea
(Exodus 14:15-31).
 Accordingly, through the miracle of dying up the Jordan (Joshua 3), God
reveals His power to the new generation in a similar way that He did to the
previous generation of Israelites.
Twelve Memorial Stones from the Jordan
Jos 4:1 Now when all the nation had finished crossing over the Jordan, Adonai spoke to
Joshua saying: Jos 4:2 “Take for yourself twelve men from the people, one man from
each tribe, Jos 4:3 and command them saying, ‘Take for yourselves twelve stones from
the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the feet of the kohanim are standing
firm, and carry them over with you, and deposit them at the place where you will lodge
tonight.” Jos 4:4 Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from
Bnei-Yisrael, one man from each tribe. Jos 4:6 Let this be a sign among you. When your
children ask later saying, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ Jos 4:7 then you will say
to them: ‘Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant
of Adonai—when it crossed the Jordan—the waters of the Jordan were cut off.’ So
these stones will be a reminder to Bnei-Yisrael forever.”
Jos 4:13 about 40,000 equipped for war crossed over before Adonai for battle to
the plains of Jericho. Jos 4:14 On that day Adonai exalted Joshua in the eyes of
all Israel. So they revered him, just as they had revered Moses all the days of his
life.
Jos 4:18 As soon as the kohanim who were carrying the ark of the covenant of Adonai
came up from the middle of the Jordan and the soles of the feet of the kohanim were
drawn up to the dry ground, the waters of the Jordan returned to their place and
overflowed all its banks as before.
Jos 4:19 Now the people came up from the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month
and camped at Gilgal on the eastern border of Jericho.
Jos 4:20 Those twelve stones, which they had taken out of the Jordan, Joshua set up in
Gilgal. Jos 4:21 Then he said to Bnei-Yisrael saying, “When your children ask their fathers
in time to come saying: ‘What are these stones?’
Jos 4:22 then you will inform your children saying, ‘Israel crossed this Jordan on dry
ground.’

—just as Adonai your God did to the Sea of Reeds, which He dried up before us until we
crossed over—
Jos 4:24 so that all the peoples of the earth may know Adonai’s hand is mighty, and so

Something unusual is written in Chapter 8 of the ancient
prophetic text of Joshua. As the leader of Israel, Joshua orders
an altar of uncut stones be built to worship Yahweh after the
great victories at Jericho and Ai. He then proceeded to copy the
Torah given by Yahweh to Moses on stones. Why did he do
this? What is the significance of the stones? ***
Throughout the Old Testament this particular Hebrew word for

stone spelled Aleph, Beyt, Noon is used as a picture of Messiah
to come. In the writings of the prophet Isaiah Chapter 28 verse
16, Adonai Yahweh says: “Behold I lay in Zion for a foundation
a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure
foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.”
The rabbi Paul, writing to the church at Ephesus in Chapter 2
verses 21 and 22, reminds us Yeshua is the chief cornerstone:
"In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto

The Hebrew word for ‘stone” additionally has a Messianic touch:

Therefore, the Hebraic language shows us that a stone
represents the concept that the Father and the Son are like a
rock. They are inseparable. It communicates what Yeshua
declared: “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). “He who has
seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9b).

Jos 5:10 While Bnei-Yisrael camped at Gilgal, they observed Passover on the

Jos 5:12 Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten of the produce
of the land. Bnei-Yisrael had manna no longer, but ate some of the yield of the
land of Canaan that year.

The Lord uses this entire chapter to describe the memorial of 12 stones (one for
each tribe) which is placed in the river bed before the Jordan rolls back over them
and also in Gilgal, their first camp in the Promised Land where another 12 stones
will be piled on land for all to see.
These were to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.
In fact notice the days mentioned once again: “On the tenth day of the first
month the people went up from Jordan and camped at Gilgal on the eastern
border of Jericho.” (Joshua 4: 19)
*** Know what day this was? Exodus 12 tells us the significance of this day:
“The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, “This month is to be for you the
first month of your year. Tell the whole community that on the tenth day
of the first month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for
each household.”  This was the Passover Lamb. ***

*** Know what day this was? Exodus 12: . Tell the whole community that on
the tenth day of the first month each man is to take a lamb for his

Exo 12:5 Your lamb is to be without blemish, a year old male. You may take it
from the sheep or from the goats.

Exo 12:7 They are to take the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the
crossbeam of the houses where they will eat it.
Exo 12:8 They are to eat the meat that night, roasted over a fire. With matzot
and bitter herbs they are to eat it.
Let me summarize the events of this chapter:
In 4:1-3, God tells Joshua what to do, regarding the 12 stones. .
In 4:4-7, Joshua tells the 12 men what to do with the stones.
In 4:8-10, the people do what Joshua told them to do.
In 4: 11-18; we hear how the people and the priests passed over the Jordan.
In 4: 19-24, we hear the final reminder of what these 12 stones are for.
Here was the significance of the day.
They had arrived at Gilgal on the 10th day of the first month. The day in which the
families took in a lamb to be sacrificed four days later to celebrate Passover.
*** Israel had come into the Promised Land just in time to celebrate Passover.
WHY?
*Notice the reverse order compared to the first Passover in Egypt.
 In Egypt, Israel celebrated the first Passover, posting the blood of the lamb on
their doorpost. The Angel of Death passed over their homes and all within were
saved. The first born in Egypt who did not have the blood posted on their doorpost died.
 The nation of Israel led by Moses then went out of Egypt and crossed the Red Sea.
 Now under Joshua, we see the parallel, but it is in reverse order. ***
Rather than Passover then crossing, we have the reverse taking place:
 cross over then celebrate Passover.
 When we get saved, the blood of YESHUA is applied to our hearts and we
are no longer under the sentence of death that is the judgement of God and
eternal separation from Him.
 After our baptism by the Spirit we enter into the Promised Land, which is the
abundant, spirit filled life. There we observe the Lord’s Supper which
memorializes his death, burial and resurrection of the Lord YESHUA

offering, as He was accepted by God after His resurrection on the
very day the wave-sheaf offering was waved before God for its

 When Israel crossed the Red Sea this was a picture of the believer being delivered from the
bondage of sin;
 here crossing the Jordan is a picture of the believer claiming their spiritual inheritance in
Yeshua/ Jesus Chris  in the Millennial kingdom.
 Joshua is a type of Jesus Christ who leads us day by day into the inheritance He has planned
for us.
 However, it is required we take a step of faith.
 Unless we step out by faith and get our feet wet, we will not make much progress in living
the abundant life Jesus Christ died to provide us.
What did God say He would do for Joshua on this day?
“I will exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you.” (Joshua 3:7)
This is what the Lord did that day.
“That day the Lord exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel, and they revered him
all the days of his life, just as they had revered Moses.” (Joshua 4:14)
1. One of the obvious reasons why God dried up the Jordan River was to facilitate
the conquest of the land of Canaan for His people.
 At this time of year the snows of Mount Hermon were melting, the Jordan
river would overflow its banks, and become as wide as one mile in places. It was
about a mile wide opposite Jericho.
-At this time of year the inhabitants of Canaan had reason to feel very secure: no
invading force would be able to cross the Jordan and attack them. ***
- The current of the Jordan was swift; enough rafts could not be made to ferry enough fighting
men across so that a siege might be laid to any of the Canaanite cities.
 However, YHVH God causes the waters of the Jordan river to stand up in heaps
and the river bed to dry up. The children of Israel may now march forward and
possess the land of Canaan – a way of advance had been opened up for them.
The Jordan River is a 251-kilometre (156 mi)-long river in the Middle East that flows roughly
north to south through the Sea of Galilee (Hebrew: ‫ כנרת‬Kinneret, Arabic: Bohayrat Tabaraya,
meaning Lake of Tiberias) and on to the Dead
2. A new generation has now succeeded the old: they too needed to
witness the power of God in the physical universe.
 This demonstration of God’s power would give them assurance as they went
into the land of Canaan and were confronted with odds which, from a purely
military perspective, would be impossible.
 The generation of the Israelites which came out of Egypt had witnessed the
mighty power of God over the natural creation in the drying up of the Red Sea
(Exodus 14:15-31).
 Accordingly, through the miracle of dying up the Jordan (Joshua 3), God
reveals His power to the new generation in a similar way that He did to the
previous generation of Israelites.
Twelve Memorial Stones from the Jordan
Jos 4:1 Now when all the nation had finished crossing over the Jordan, Adonai spoke to
Joshua saying: Jos 4:2 “Take for yourself twelve men from the people, one man from
each tribe, Jos 4:3 and command them saying, ‘Take for yourselves twelve stones from
the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the feet of the kohanim are standing
firm, and carry them over with you, and deposit them at the place where you will lodge
tonight.” Jos 4:4 Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from
Bnei-Yisrael, one man from each tribe. Jos 4:6 Let this be a sign among you. When your
children ask later saying, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ Jos 4:7 then you will say
to them: ‘Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant
of Adonai—when it crossed the Jordan—the waters of the Jordan were cut off.’ So
these stones will be a reminder to Bnei-Yisrael forever.”
Jos 4:13 about 40,000 equipped for war crossed over before Adonai for battle to
the plains of Jericho. Jos 4:14 On that day Adonai exalted Joshua in the eyes of
all Israel. So they revered him, just as they had revered Moses all the days of his
life.
Jos 4:18 As soon as the kohanim who were carrying the ark of the covenant of Adonai
came up from the middle of the Jordan and the soles of the feet of the kohanim were
drawn up to the dry ground, the waters of the Jordan returned to their place and
overflowed all its banks as before.
Jos 4:19 Now the people came up from the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month
and camped at Gilgal on the eastern border of Jericho.
Jos 4:20 Those twelve stones, which they had taken out of the Jordan, Joshua set up in
Gilgal. Jos 4:21 Then he said to Bnei-Yisrael saying, “When your children ask their fathers
in time to come saying: ‘What are these stones?’
Jos 4:22 then you will inform your children saying, ‘Israel crossed this Jordan on dry
ground.’
Jos 4:23 For Adonai your God dried up the waters of Jordan before you until you crossed
—just as Adonai your God did to the Sea of Reeds, which He dried up before us until we
crossed over—
Jos 4:24 so that all the peoples of the earth may know Adonai’s hand is mighty, and so
that you may fear Adonai your God forever.”

Something unusual is written in Chapter 8 of the ancient
prophetic text of Joshua. As the leader of Israel, Joshua orders
an altar of uncut stones be built to worship Yahweh after the
great victories at Jericho and Ai. He then proceeded to copy the
Torah given by Yahweh to Moses on stones. Why did he do
this? What is the significance of the stones? ***
Throughout the Old Testament this particular Hebrew word for

stone spelled Aleph, Beyt, Noon is used as a picture of Messiah
to come. In the writings of the prophet Isaiah Chapter 28 verse
16, Adonai Yahweh says: “Behold I lay in Zion for a foundation
a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure
foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.”
The rabbi Paul, writing to the church at Ephesus in Chapter 2
verses 21 and 22, reminds us Yeshua is the chief cornerstone:
"In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto
an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded
together for an habitation of God through the Spirit."

First Passover in Canaan
Jos 5:10 While Bnei-Yisrael camped at Gilgal, they observed Passover on the
evening of the fourteenth day of the month in the plains of Jericho.
Jos 5:11 On the day after the Passover, on that very day, they ate of the produce
of the land, matzot and roasted grain.
Jos 5:12 Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten of the produce
of the land. Bnei-Yisrael had manna no longer, but ate some of the yield of the
land of Canaan that year.
The Lord uses this entire chapter to describe the memorial of 12 stones (one for
each tribe) which is placed in the river bed before the Jordan rolls back over them
and also in Gilgal, their first camp in the Promised Land where another 12 stones
will be piled on land for all to see.
In fact notice the days mentioned once again: “On the tenth day of the first
month the people went up from Jordan and camped at Gilgal on the eastern
border of Jericho.” (Joshua 4: 19)
*** Know what day this was? Exodus 12 tells us the significance of this day:
“The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, “This month is to be for you the
first month of your year. Tell the whole community that on the tenth day
of the first month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for
each household.”  This was the Passover Lamb. ***
(Joshua 4: 19)
*** Know what day this was? Exodus 12: . Tell the whole community that on
the tenth day of the first month each man is to take a lamb for his
family, one for each household.”  This was the Passover Lamb.
Exo 12:5 Your lamb is to be without blemish, a year old male. You may take it
from the sheep or from the goats.
Exo 12:6 You must watch over it until the fourteenth day of the same month.
Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to slaughter it at
twilight.
Exo 12:7 They are to take the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the
crossbeam of the houses where they will eat it.
Exo 12:8 They are to eat the meat that night, roasted over a fire. With matzot
and bitter herbs they are to eat it.
Let me summarize the events of this chapter:
In 4:1-3, God tells Joshua what to do, regarding the 12 stones. .
In 4:4-7, Joshua tells the 12 men what to do with the stones.
In 4:8-10, the people do what Joshua told them to do.
In 4: 11-18; we hear how the people and the priests passed over the Jordan.
In 4: 19-24, we hear the final reminder of what these 12 stones are for.
Here was the significance of the day.
They had arrived at Gilgal on the 10th day of the first month. The day in which the
families took in a lamb to be sacrificed four days later to celebrate Passover.
*** Israel had come into the Promised Land just in time to celebrate Passover.
WHY?
*Notice the reverse order compared to the first Passover in Egypt.
 In Egypt, Israel celebrated the first Passover, posting the blood of the lamb on
their doorpost. The Angel of Death passed over their homes and all within were
saved. The first born in Egypt who did not have the blood posted on their doorpost died.
 The nation of Israel led by Moses then went out of Egypt and crossed the Red Sea.
 Now under Joshua, we see the parallel, but it is in reverse order. ***
Rather than Passover then crossing, we have the reverse taking place:
 cross over then celebrate Passover.
 When we get saved, the blood of YESHUA is applied to our hearts and we
are no longer under the sentence of death that is the judgement of God and
eternal separation from Him.
 After our baptism by the Spirit we enter into the Promised Land, which is the
abundant, spirit filled life. There we observe the Lord’s Supper which
memorializes his death, burial and resurrection of the Lord YESHUA
 (NOTE Israelites obeys torah and keep the Feast of UNLEAVENED BREAD
