• The brain is one of the most important

organs in the body.

• The brain is in the head, protected by

the skull.

• Its like a powerful computer which

controls everything we do, from our
thoughts, movement and breathing.
What is this organ?
The Heart
• The heart is one of the most important
organs in the body.

• It is in the chest and it is protected by

the ribcage.

• Its main job is to pump blood to every

part of the body.

• The blood carries oxygen and all the

food, vitamins and minerals that your
body needs to move, think, grow and
repair itself.
What is this organ?
The Lungs

• The lungs are found in the chest and

they are protected by the ribcage.

• The main job of the lungs is to carry

oxygen from the air we breath into
the blood stream.

• When we breath out we get rid of the

carbon dioxide inside our body.
What is this organ?
The Liver

• The liver can be found under

your ribs.
• It is the largest solid organ in
the human body.
• It breaks down and gets rid of
harmful chemicals which build
up inside our body.
• It helps the body to break
down and use fats and
vitamins.
What is this organ?
The Stomach
• The stomach lies just under the
liver.

• The stomach is an important part

of the digestive system.

• Once the food has been chewed

and swallowed it goes into the
stomach and it is mixed and
broken down further.
What is this pair of organs?
The Kidneys

• The kidneys are found on each side

of your body in the middle of the
back and they are protected by the
ribcage.
• The kidneys work hard to clean our
blood. They filter blood all day
long.
• The kidneys filter all of the waste
products from your blood and pass
them into the urine stored in your
bladder.
What is this organ?
The Small Intestine

• The small intestine is a thin,

hollow tube about 20 feet long
that runs from the stomach to
the beginning of the large
intestine.

• The small intestine absorbs

much of the nutrients from
food.
What is this organ?
The Large Intestine

• The large intestine is attached to

the small intestine.
• It is a wider tube but much
shorter than the small intestine.
• It can be found around the
outside of the small intestines.
• Its job is to absorb food and
water and move the waste from
our food along so that it can be
removed from our body.
What is this organ?
The Skin

• The skin is the biggest human

organ but unlike all the others it
is found on the outside of the
body.
