INTRODUCTION
• The microcontroller based Door locker is an access
control system that allows only authorized persons
to access a restricted area. The system is fully
controlled by the 8 bit microcontroller ATMEGA8
which has a 8Kbytes of programmable flash
memory and 512bytes of EEPROM.
12. BUZZER
ATMEGA8 MICROCONTROLLER
•There are 23 I/O lines which can be obtained from three ports ; namely PORT B,
PORT C and PORT D.
ATMEGA8 PIN DIAGRAM
STEPPER MOTOR
If the password is matched the controller gives input signal to the motor driver. As a
result it rotates in forward direction to open the door.
DIODE
•A diode is a two-terminal electronic
component that conducts electric current in
only one direction.
CAPACITOR
•A capacitor is a passive electronic
component consisting of a pair of conductors
separated by a dielectric (insulator).
TRANSFORMER
LCD
•A 2*16 LCD means it can display 16 characters per line and there are 2 such lines.
•It can operate in either 8 bit mode or 4 bit mode.
DISADVANTAGES:
•If you forget the password, it is not possible to open the door.
•It is not possible to operate the circuit remotely.
APPLICATIONS:
•This simple circuit can be used at residential places to ensure better safety.
•It can be used at organisations to ensure authorised access to highly secured places.
