Sexual Relations of Husband and
Wife
The right to live together includes the right to love
sexual Relations between the husband and wife.
However,the right he sexual Relations is done only in
a normal intercourse. the wife sway mostly ref.me
sexual intercourse will indanger her health.the wife
can also refuse if the husband is suffering from a
sexually transmissable disease.
Fedility is defined as loyalty between the husband and wife.
As such ,the wife should not done any affair with another
man and the husband should not have any affair with
another women.
Obligation of Husband and Wife to Render Mutual Help and
Support
Bother husband and wife have the joint or mutual
obligation to provide economic assistance and
care,social,moral,and spiritual assistance to each other and
to their children.these include assistance for food, shelter,
clothing, medical needs, education,and transportation
corresponding to the financial capacity of the couple.
Exercise by Spouse of a Profession
The family code provide that either spouse may exercise any
legitimate profession occupation, business to help augment
the family income. in so doing the wife is also expected to
perform her task in the family.
Parents Authority and
Responsibility
In our society there is a fair amount of both social
and legal consensus about the roles of parent and
child. Parents are to their children. Children are to
respect and obey their parents,do well in school,and
develop social skills.
Parental authority and Responsibility include the
caring for and learning of their children for Civic
consensus and efficiency and the development of
their moral,mental and physical character and we'll
being (family code)
Parental authority is defined as the excuse of right and
obligations which parents have to relation to the parents and
property of their children until their enancipation,and even
after this unfair certain circumstances
The father and the mother should paintly exercise parental
authority over the person of their common children.in came
there is disagreement the father's decision shall prevail,unfers
there is a court order to the contracy.
In case of death or obsence of their parent,the pancient
present shall confine exercising parental authority.
Children are obliged to observe respect and reverence toward
teir parents and to obey them as long they are under parental
authority (Pad 603)
Substitute Parental Authority
In case of death.absense or unsuitability of the parents,
substitute Parental Authority shall be exercise by the surviving
grandparents, substitute Parental authority can be performed
over the child in the following order.
1. The oldest brother or sister,one 21 years of age,unless unfit
or disqualified.
2. The child's actual custodial,over 21 years of age,unless unfit
or disqualified.
Authority Model
In the traditional family the father is considered as
the authority model of home. The father is regarded
as the parent who related children (especially boys)
to incorporate the prohobitations,rules,
principles,and values of the family and of society. The
father's authority is considered in the type of
discipline to be enforced in the home.
The father's role as primary bread winner is a major part of
his influence,even if the wife is also earning. His decision are
sought especially on important matters life buying in
appliance,buying a car,moving to a new home,or school for the
children.
The wife usually performs a supportive role to the husband.
However,husband and wife also consult such either for
important.comsions like child care,family budget,
education,trave,and other interrelated family affairs.
Relationship in the Extended Family System
A study of relationships among middle-aged mother her
orderly mother,and young adults daughter/son found that
attitude towards gender roles in child care and in parent care
became progressively stronger among women of each
successive young generation.
when asked wether grown children should help their
orderly parents,the youngest generation. And the middle
generation. Grandchildren also felt that they should provide
help to their grandparents.
The forgoing study only about that the good Filipino values
connected with family care of elderly parents have not
diminished. This also proves the strong family ties of the
Filipinos.
Communication,Compromise,
Accommodate
Living together as husband and wife especially during the
adjustment period and transition to parent hood requires a
lot of give and -take. In many situations the husband may
be right; in other situations the wife may be right. In other
instances,one is right from his or her own point of view.
There is always more than one way of looking at an issue.
In all instances husband and wife should learn to
communicate,to compromise,and to accommodate each
other's feelings and viewpoint. Yielding does not necessarily
mean giving up altogether.
If one yields and the other gives a Little, then there is a
healthy compromise and a mutually satisfactory solution may
be reached, This is the secret of understanding.
COMMUNICATION
Communication between husband and wife should be
strengthend the following means:
1. Telling each other about what happened during the day's
work
2.Spending one evening together at least one a week
3. Active listening to each other
4. Sharing outside interest such as social activities and
recreation.
Termination of Parental Authority
Termination of Parental authority occurs under the
following condition;
1. When the person reaches the age of 18
2. When the person gets married at 18 years old
After the termination of Parental authority,the
person shall then be qualified and responsible for all
this actions and property.
Contracting marriage still require parental consent
until the age of 21.
Support of the Filipino Extended Family
The family code provides the members of the family system
are bound to support each other.
1. The spouse
2. Legitimate ascendants and defendants
3.Parents and their legitimate children and the legitimate and
illegitimate children of the letter.
4. Legitimate brothers and sisters,whether of the full or half-
blood, provided they are below 18 years old
For the legitimate accendants and descendants, the parents
are obliged to support their legitimate children and vice versa
. The grandparents are bound to support their legitimate
grandchildren and grandchildren are also bound to support
their grandparents.
Sourse of Support
As provided for by the Family code:
1. The support for the spouses and their legitimate
children shall be taken from the common property of
the husband and wife.
2. Only the separate property of either husband or
wife shall be used for the support of legitimate
ascendants; descendants, whether legitimate or
illigitimate,and brothers and sisters,whether
legitimately related.
The amount of support will defend on the capacity. If those
who are expected to give the assistance.
Descendants refer to the following parents to the nearest
degree;
1. Children
2. Grandchildren
3. Great grandchildren
Ascendants include the following person's to the ascending
line.
1. parents
2. grandparents
3. great grandparents and so on in the ascending line
Grandparents tend to become more involved with
grandchildren in times of family crisis.

Face-to-face contact with Grandparents seems to diminish as


grandchildren get older,but the symbiotic relationship,
including attachment feelings often continue through
adolescense and adulthood.

Younger grandmother's are more often involved in fun-loving


activities with teir grandchildren.
