Most of us spend as a minimum 2.

5 hours during
transporting to and from CTTC on a daily basis.
BP and CTTC Management have a “Duty of Care”
to ensure that its employees / passengers are
aware of all the hazards associated with their
daily travel, and any associated risks that may
arise from time to time.

Our aim is to achieve

•no accidents
•no harm to people
•no damage to the environment
Passengers play a significant role in Road Safety
issues and are not just customers, but also
supporters of the driver
Passenger behavior can positively or negatively
affect the driver’s performance
ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!

Make sure that it operates properly, is fitted securely, and


kept fastened while the vehicle is moving!
Secure all personal items in the luggage
spaces

Avoid leaving them on your


knees

It could be flying object


during an accident
Be punctual, and don’t ask the driver to
“hurry up”

He will not comply


If requested, assist the driver while
maneuvering
Remember - Smoking is not permitted in any BP
vehicle
Don’t eat or drink while the vehicle is in
motion

especially hot drinks!


Move onboard promptly, avoid blocking the aisle
with your feet or bags
Only use designated or approved pick up points
Make sure the vehicle has completely stopped
before you board
While boarding a bus, use the handrails
provided
Familiarize yourself with the vehicle’s
safety features

Don’t engage the Driver in conversation

Don’t have the volume of your mobile phone or IPod set too high.

Ring tones (Emergency Sirens "or “Multiple Explosions”) could be


very distracting for your Driver if he isn’t expecting it!
Pedestrians’ movement is allowed only on
footways and roadsides

If footways and roadsides are not available or


they are unfit for usage, then walking by the
edge of carriageway is also acceptable
Pedestrians’ using the edge of carriageway must
walk opposite to oncoming traffic direction
Use pedestrian (zebra) crossings or bridges

If not available it’s allowed to cross at right angles to the


edge of road after carefully checking for vehicle
movements in both directions.

It is not allowed to stop a vehicle and get


out for watching accident area. Second
accident could occur and you could be a
victim.
The Responsible Passenger is
responsible for:

 Ensuring that the motor vehicle observes the


correct speed limits.

 Ensuring that the vehicle is driven in safe


manner with due regards to the prevailing road
and weather conditions.

 Reporting to Transport Manager/Department


any unsafe driving acts, conditions and
incidents of speeding observed
