O E ARO OF CERAMICS

Pesaro has a long standing tradition of

pottery. Ohe art of the earth and the fire
originated in Pesaro in the fourteenth century.
In the second half of the fifteenth century,
Pesaro became one of the most important and
influential centres of ceramic art.
Many documents report a lot of potters and
workshops, intensive trades, a substantial
production of prestigious objects, awards and
signs of appreciation.
In the mid-900, artists such as Baratti,
Valentini, Sora, Polidori, Wildi and Bucci have
wisely interpreted the tradition with originality
and creativity, giving form to a new season of
ceramics from Pesaro. O

Even today, the art of ceramics, is practiced

by many potters, so that they keep the

glorious past of the town alive.
