vessels and lymph
vessels( metastasized).

KINDS

INVASIVE DUCTAL
CARCINOMA
THE CANCER CELLS GROW OUTSIDE THE
DUCTS INTO OTHER PARTS OF THE BREAST

INVASIVE CANCER CELLS CAN ALSO
SPREAD, OR METASTASIZE, TO OTHER
PARTS OF THE BODY.
INVASIVE LOBULAR
CARCINOMA
CANCER CELLS SPREAD FROM THE
LOBULES TO THE BREAST TISSUES THAT
ARE CLOSE BY.
THESE INVASIVE CANCER CELL CAN ALSO
SPREAD TO OTHER PARTS OF THE BODY.

TREATMENTS
Treatments:

▪ Mastectomy: Surgery to remove the

whole breast.

▪ Lumpectomy or breast-conserving
surgery: Surgery to remove just the
tumor and tissues around it.

▪ Radiation therapy: Uses high-energy

waves to kill cancer cells.
Other
Treatments:

▪ Chemotherapy: Uses drugs to kill cancer

cells. As these powerful medicines fight
the disease, they also can cause side
effects, like nausea, hair loss, early
menopause, hot flashes, and fatigue.

▪ Hormone therapy: Uses drugs to prevent

hormones, especially estrogen, from
fueling the growth of breast cancer cells.
