Smart System
Clinical Case
Potential clinical risk caused by infusion delay

There is an infusion delay after start the pump because of the force of

friction in syringe, with the rate of 1ml/h, the delay time is from

(6.75±4.40)min to (57.20 ±28.60)min.

Fast start function (SP5)

 BeneFusion SP5 quickly overcomes

the resistance of syringe, extension line
and needle, supporting a timely
injection even at a very low delivery
rate.
 This function is especially useful
during special clinical treatment,
involving some pressure or pediatric
drugs.

Smart System
Smart Infusion Pump
 New infusion pumps that incorporate dose-limiting software into the pump hardware designed to prevent
infusion-related programming errors.

 A pump equipped with safety features, such as user-alerts, that activate when there is a risk of and adverse drug
interaction, or when the user sets the pump’s parameters outside of specified safety limits. Smart pumps are
designed to recognize prescription errors, dose misinterpretations, and keypad programming errors. (FDA)

Dose Error Reduction System (DERS)

 Software built into intelligent infusion devices that is designed to catch dosing or administration errors. The
software alerts the user if predetermined high dosage limits are exceeded, or if entry is below predetermined low
dosage limits.

Smart System
DERS Drug Library
• The Dose Error Reduction System (DERS) drug library assists in protecting patients by triggering the alarms when the
actual dose reaches defined limits, ensuring patient safety.

Simplified Workflow Smart Pump Interface

• Program the limits of infusion rate • Drug indicator by color;

via Drug library management tool • Color display when override soft limit;
Upper hard limits
• Clear alert when soft/hard limit is reached.

Exact adjustment starting at 0.01ml/h

 Titration makes it possible to change flow rate during operation directly

without stopping the pump, guaranteeing continuous infusion.
Bolus/Purge
 Hands-on /Hands-free Bolus
 Wide bolus rate range selectable;
 Meet clinical requirements, and
allow Anesthesiologist to focus on
the patients.

 Purge: Remove the air bubble

conveniently by pressing the
purge key

 Free-flow protection greatly reduce the risk of patient injury or death associated
with free-flow over infusion;
Anti-bolus

• Anti-bolus: When occlusion happens, the motor return some volume

automatically to avoid harmfulness to the patient causing by the bolus,
so that to ensure safety.
Anti-Siphonage design(SP5)

• Anti-Siphonage: When a full syringe is loaded onto the pump, liquid

might flow from the syringe even when the pump is on standby and the
infusion has not been started. The anti-siphonage design automatically
lock the lead screw, preventing unintentional cirulation of liquids and
avoiding any harm to the patient.
Easy Connection
BeneFusion CS5 Central Station
Centralized management
• Supervise up to 64 DS5 or 512 BeneFusion pumps
simultaneously;
• Centralized management of infusion data;
• HL7 protocol supports integration into the hospital
network.
Main Interface of Multi-bed

Latest pump information:
