Grade 10 students
of Daraga National
High School in
choosing a Strand
in Senior High
School
INTRODUCTION
Now in the modern world, it is hard
for the Grade 10 students who are
going to step forward in Senior High
School to choose the best strand for
them. There are many factors that
may influence them in choosing a
strand such as family, peer-pressure,
their self- interest and even the
NCAE result.
The main purpose of this study is to know
what is the most influencing factor to Grade
10 students in choosing a strand.

This study has significance in several areas.


First, the result of this study is beneficial for
the students, in providing insights for strand
selection process. Moreover, the findings of
this study may provide a useful tool for self-
discovery and help students when it comes in
decision-making.
The outcome of this study will help
the student to choose the correct and
suitable strand for them. This will help
also the students to determine the
considerations when it comes in
choosing a strand. The aim of this
study they must consider their own
skill and interest. It also aims for the
students to avoid possible conflicts.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The confusion in choosing a
strand is common in Grade 10
students. This study is to
determine the factors
influencing the Grade 10
students in choosing a strand.
Specifically, aims to answer the
following questions:

1.What are the most common


influential factors that influence
Grade 10 students in choosing a
strand?
• Family
• Peer pressure
• Interest
• NCAE result
2.What is the mostly chosen
strand by the Grade 10
students?
3.What are the preferred
courses of Grade 10 students?
METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN

This study used a descriptive


method using a self–made survey to
assess the factors influencing grade
10 students of Daraga National High
School in choosing a strand.
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
The study focuses on the factors
influencing the Grade 10
Students of Daraga National
High School in choosing a strand.
Grade 10 students’ view will be
given importance as we gather
data and information from them
by conducting a survey.

CONCLUSION
Nonetheless, all of the Grade 10
students wanted to choose the best
strand suited for them. Personal interest
is the most influential factors for Grade
10 students of Daraga National High
School when it comes in choosing a
strand. Students’ of Daraga National
High School prefer Academic Track than
Vocational Track.
They are also aware of the different
courses and profession related to their
chosen strand. It shows that students
have direction in what path they want to
take.
RECOMMENDATION
•For the students, when it comes
in choosing a strand it is
important that it is based from
your personal interest, to be
more motivated and completing
school activities but still it is
also important to consult first
your parents.
•For the teachers, the
researchers effectively
recommend to give advice and
encourage students to spend
enough time to think critically
unto what strand they should
take without a doubt.
•For the parents, the researchers
are recommending for their full
support for their children
education and also for their path
they want to take. They should
serve as the guide to their children
in terms of decision making but
not in a way of forcing them.
•For the school, the researchers
are recommending to conduct
an orientation or career
guidance to help the grade 10
students of Daraga National
High School in choosing a
strand.
