Chinese
Music
Chou Dynasty

and emperor Tai Zong had
10 orchestras.
The Chinese Opera
- Based on old tales of
heroes and the
supernatural.
Yuan Dynasty
- Developed the Chinese
opera called northern
drama or Beigu.
Ming and Qin Dynasty
- The development of
southern drama called
Xiwen.
19th Century
- Peking Opera or Jingxi
developed as a synthesis of
earlier provincial forms of
opera.
20 thCentury
- Chinese music was
influenced by Western
music.
