5.1
• Identify social policy at the local, state, and federal level that impacts well-being, service, delivery, and
access to social services.
• This week I spoke with my supervisor who helped me find federal, state, and local policies that
impacted the agency.
• I met with other members within the agency and asked them about the policies that impacted or
guided their procedures and practices with clients.
• I observed how the policies helped mandate what they could and could not do with the clients.
• Ex: Blue cross Blue shield, and United heath care each company has different policy. I had to
make sure that I was following they guidelines before moving forward with my client.
5.2
• Assess how social welfare and economic policies impact the delivery
of and access to social services.
• This week I attended staffing meeting, took notes on topics and the
discussions, paying attention to the details of policy within the meeting and
services that is offered to clients.
• I help arrange transportation needs for some clients that was dealing with
transportation issues. I called Scotland County Area Transit system for some
of my clients so they can get to their Dr. Appointments.
5.3
• Apply critical thinking to analyze, formulate, and advocate for policies that advance human rights and
social, economic, and environmental justice.
• I had the opportunity to give my input which policies I felt that will help enhance the services to
clients.
• I participated in teams' meetings with personnel and addressed improving services and/or service
delivery to address human rights.
• I made sure that my client understand their rights. If they feel that their rights as being violated
