 When non recyclable laminates are used constant seal jaw
mechanism suitable for 8~25 mm seal widths available..
 Film structures from two different polymer families offer
easy tear off notch and perforated chain of packs.
 Formers suitable for FIN type Vertical seal used for inner
layers sealing of the pack .

While switching to PE –PE laminates modifications to be
implemented on VFFS machines which are .
The formers to be modified/replaced to offer over-lap seal in
place of conventional FIN type vertical seal (for non –recyclable
laminates.)
The serrated Broad Horizontal seal offered for non recyclable
films & same cannot be used for PE-PE laminates.
Single/Double band seal offered for Horizontal seal of the
pack .The Air purging facility required for curing of the seal.
Thus Sealing jaw Mechanism is to be replaced of existing
machines.
VFFS machine cycle Logic Changes are to be incorporated at
site for existing machines

Reduction in life for cutting knife & hence special coating for
knife required to compensate reduction in its life .
Limitation to offer easy tear notch facility and perforated
chain of packs from PE-PE laminate structures for small
sachets.
Conventional impulse seal system for broad band - uniform
flat seal can be offered for Non- hygroscopic Solid product
if cooling water circulation allowed for such product.
Pouch cutting will possible thru use of Rod type element
& will address issue related to life of the knife .
•Non stick coating for sealing portion of pack if available then
continuing with conventional constant seal system possible but
result in recurring cost to Brand owners .

•Specialty retail friendly premium pack formats like stabilo
pack, Penta seal pack will need further development of PE-PE
laminate structures .
•The joint trials with participation of all stake holders i.e. Raw
material manufacturers, Converters , VFFS machine
manufacturers & Brand owners is must to establish new
structures for specialty pack formats.

Atta Sector – Solutions for PDS of West Bengal
Atta is distributed in 750 g thru PDS in West Bengal using
recyclable LDPE Films .
Sprint 250 +SAF model machine – 200 nos. in operation with
various Atta millers of West Bengal & are supplied during 2014
~18 .
These machines are running@ 40~50 packs/min. & are used for
average 16 hours per day.
