 INTRODUCTION

• An intellectual research critique is a careful, complete

examination of study, to judge its strengths, weaknesses,
logical links, meaning and significance (Burns & Grove,
2003).

• Nurses, not only nurses practitioner, but also nurses

scholar, need to have an ability to critique a research.
• Research critique will give many benefits for those who do
it.
• Research critique can facilitate critiquers to demonstrate
their mastery of methodologic and analytic skills
• It also helps critiquers to examine their ability to synthesize
any research findings and provide empirical evidence for
nursing practice
• Further, the goal of research critique is generally to develop
a balanced evaluation of the study’s contribution to
knowledge.
