Market survey:

 Data, information and knowledge are prime factors of a

survey.
 The market survey was done by the team members
about which type of food most people prefer according
to the ambience.
 So we visited few of famous places of Nasik and tried to
gather primary data.
 The parameters were based upon what do people think
when they are out on streets to eat.
 The secondary data was collected by the help of
internet.
 Does the cost of the item matter to them or the
quality?
 The research concluded that the people would like
to pay for good quality of the food maintaining the
hygiene. Hence, the inference for this was the rates
and items for menu card.
 Spot selection:

 All the group members actively participated in finding a perfect location.

 We visited many places at college road and nashik road. We analysed that
it was prime time for Ganesh Chaturthi celebration and visited Dongre
Vasati Gruha and Thakkar Dome.

 With further discussion with mentors and group members we finalised

Thakkar Dome near City Center Mall Nasik as our location.
 A day prior to the activity we visited the location and asked for the
permission of authorities. Our leader submitted the permission letter
and permission was granted by
Mr. Sushant Malvande.

 The permission was given to utilize the area at entrance of Thakkar

Dome.

 Strategy behind choosing the location:- Our team focused mainly at

management i.e planning, staffing, controlling,
directing and organizing.

 It urges students to build co-ordination between them for
the smooth functioning of the activity and work as an
organization.

 As an MBA student this activity teaches us to think and act

in complex situations and taking the right decision with
good presence of mind as per the situation persist.

 It helps in developing client interaction skills and test

patience of an individual in complex time.

through the utilization of available resources, such as
financial, natural, technological, and human resources.
 This is what we achieved in this activity and also
implemented the functions of management such as
Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing and Controlling.

 These functions were the most important essentials to

help this activity work.

 We learned to tackle every obstacle which came across

and learned various skills while interacting with
customers. We learn to design marketing stratergies for
products.

PLANNING:-

 It is the basic function of management. It deals with
chalking out a future course of action & deciding in
advance the most appropriate course of actions for
achievement of pre-determined goals.

 According to KOONTZ, “Planning is deciding in

advance - what to do, when to do & how to do. It
bridges the gap from where we are & where we want
to be”.
 Planning is determination of courses of action
to achieve desired goals.

 Thus, planning is a systematic thinking about

ways and means for accomplishment of
predetermined goals.

 Planning is necessary to ensure proper

utilization of human & non-human resources.

 It is all pervasive, it is an intellectual activity and it

also helps in avoiding confusion, uncertainties, risks,
wastages, etc.
ORGANIZING:-

 It is the process of bringing together all the human

and non-human resources and developing
productive relationship amongst them for
achievement of organizational goals.

 According to Henry Fayol, “To organize a business

is to provide it with everything useful or its
functioning i.e. raw material, tools, capital and
personnel’s”.
 To organize a business involves determining & providing
human and non-human resources to the organizational
structure. Organizing as a process involves:

 Identification of activities.
 Classification of grouping of activities.
 Assignment of duties.
 Delegation of authority and creation of responsibility.
 Coordinating authority and responsibility relationships.

STAFFING:-
  Staffing is the process of filling positions of the organization
with adequate and qualified personnel .

 Staffing is the process of acquiring, deploying ,and retaining a

workforce of sufficient quantity and quality to create positive
impacts on the organizations effectiveness

 The main purpose of staffing is to put right man on right job

i.e. square pegs in square holes and round pegs in round
holes.
 Staffing involves:-

 Manpower Planning

(estimating man power in terms of searching,
choose the person and giving the right place).
Recruitment, Selection & Placement.

 Training & Development.

 Remuneration.
 Performance Appraisal.
 Promotions & Transfer.
DIRECTING:-
 It is that part of managerial function which actuates the
organizational methods to work efficiently for achievement of
organizational purposes.

 It is considered life-spark of the enterprise which sets it in motion

the action of people because planning, organizing and staffing are
the mere preparations for doing the work.

 Direction is that inert-personnel aspect of management which deals

directly with influencing, guiding, supervising, motivating sub-
ordinate for the achievement of organizational goals.
 Direction has following elements:-

 Supervision- implies overseeing the work of subordinates by their
superiors. It is the act of watching & directing work & workers.

 Motivation- means inspiring, stimulating or encouraging the sub-

ordinates with zeal to work. Positive, negative, monetary, non-
monetary incentives may be used for this purpose.

 Leadership- may be defined as a process by which manager guides and

influences the work of subordinates in desired direction.

 Communications- is the process of passing information, experience,

opinion etc from one person to another. It is a bridge of understanding.
CONTROLLING:-
 It Implies measurement of accomplishment against the standards
and correction of deviation if any to ensure achievement of
organizational goals.

 The purpose of controlling is to ensure that everything occurs in

conformities with the standards. An efficient system of control
helps to predict deviations before they actually occur.

 According to Theo Haimann, “Controlling is the process of checking

whether or not proper progress is being made towards the
objectives and goals and acting if necessary, to correct any
deviation”.
 Therefore controlling has following steps:-

a. Establishment of standard performance.

b. Measurement of actual performance.
c. Comparison of actual performance with the
standards and finding out deviation if any.
d. Corrective action.

 Conclusion:-

Management is the most significant concept when we have

to perform a task.
The goals & objectives which we have have decided to
attend
And to fulfill that objectives we have to control all
management functions i.e. PLANNING , STAFFING ,
CONTROLLING , IMPLIMENTING, DIRECTING, CO-
ORDINATING, etc..
