INTRODUCTION
The turbines are machines that develop torque and shaft power as a result of varying the amount
of movement of the fluid passing through them .
The fluid may be a gas , vapor or liquid , although the notes given below are applicable to
turbines that operate with gas or vapor.
For the fluid to reach the high speed required for useful variations occurring at the time , there
must be a significant difference between the pressure at the turbine inlet and exhaust .
Pressurized gas sources include a gas previously compressed and heated , as in the case of a gas
turbine , or a turbine engine turbocharger CI In the electricity generation industry is very
common to use steam generated in high pressure boilers using solid fuels or nuclear driven
alternators move steam turbines.
There are numerous types of turbines, from the most basic used in a dental burr until
multiexpansión large turbines used in power stations , which can develop up to 1,000 MW.
Let the turbine to be tested is a " single action monoexpansiva turbine and axial flow ."
"Simple" to be a turbine without complications such as dual expansion of action.
" Monoexpansiva " means that you simply staggering .
" Axial flow " means that the fluid enters and leaves the rotor at the same radio, and no radial
components of importance in its speed .
Finally "action " indicates that the fluid pressure drop and subsequent increase in speed occurs
in the stator , ie in the nozzles . Therefore, the fluid passes through the rotor at a nearly constant
pressure , resulting in only a change in its speed.
