What is homelessness?
• Someone who is experiencing
homelessness does not have a
permanent address. Their
housing situation is unstable.
• Homelessness does not define a
person but is instead a temporary
situation.
• Anyone can become homeless.
Reasons For Homelessness!
• When Housing is Out of Reach – lack of
housing, that low income people can afford.
• Income and Housing Affordability – not
having enough money for household
staples like food, bills, clothing, and
housing.
• Health Problems – if someone in the family
gets seriously ill. It could cost a lot of
money.

• Escaping Violence – fleeing
domestic violence, and
abusive relationship.
• Impact of Racial Disparities
– minorities make up a
small percent of the
general population, but a
larger percent of
homelessness.

• Sleep deprivation.
• Physical and sexual assault
• Drug dependency
• HIV/AIDS
• Personal
• Loss of self esteem
• Becoming institutionalized
• Development of behavioral

Help In The Arundel Area!
• The Arundel House of Hope is a non-profit organization that provides
emergency, transitional, and permanent affordable housing for those
experiencing homelessness in Anne Arundel County. They provide
support services in a professional, dignified, supportive, and
respectful manner.

• There are many reasons why someone can become homeless.
• If you are someone experiencing homelessness, then seek out for
help.
• If I ever find myself in this situations, I know to go to the Arundel
House of Hope for help.
• Instead of suffering alone, let organizations near you, help you!
• But most of all, stay optimistic and do not lose hope!
