JBDLS used the bulk of his family
inheritance to feed the poor. He gave
away his entire fortune and kept just
enough not to be burden on the Brothers
when it came to his priestly
responsibilities. Thus he quickly and
irrevocably joined his Brothers in real
poverty. Now, they would all be fully
dependent on God alone.
